I have resigned myself to relegation for a long time now. As the season has progressed, the team has become weaker, but for me, the deciding factor was the home loss to Notts Forest before Christmas. One home win all season is relegation form, and only a miracle would save us now. I'm not too concerned with being in League One. Even with the youngsters, those we keep, I think we'll have a good enough team to ride it out, but what worries me is whether we'll be doing it with a points deduction. I must be mad, but I actually want us to hit rock bottom, so that the only way we can go is up. I just hope that rock bottom occurs in League One and not League Two or worse. If we do get relegated, and it doesn't look too rosy, one small consolation would be seeing Pompey go down too - not for rivallry reasons but because it'll give us something to play for next year in League One, playing against them in the CCC the following year!

Annoyingly, and despite needing wins, especially at home, I would've taken a point last night. So close, yet so far. Relegation has been in the offing for ages, we just don't have the quality to stay in this division. Take administration, and cling on to any kind of hope we could possibly have in the next few years. Right now I would take just staying in league football, unlike Luton who were in this league two years ago and appear to be slipping out of professional football. As Holloway said last night, why did Euell and BWP start on the bench? We need all the experience we can get right now.

With my mum it was usually a slipper or flip flop we got hit with, but with my dad it was usually his hand. That said, my dad rarely hit me as he was usually working.

Friday - Supposed to be enjoying myself on the first day off of nine, but instead I find myself and getting paid twice as much for it. God bless overtime. Tonight I will be looking to get drunk. Tomorrow - Listen to the Saints game, chill out, but I'm sure my missus will make me go shopping at some point. Sunday - A day of relaxation as Sunday's should be spent. Nice. I predict this weekend should be a rating of 7/10, better than usual.

When I was about 12, I video taped over some footage of my late uncle, the only footage my mother had of her brother. I also once hit my mum, instinctively as she went to hit me for being naughty. It was the day she realised she couldn't discipline me that way anymore. Going to go for another great I never got to see, Steve Moran. Since supporting them, It has got to be a toss up between Beatts, Pahars and Ostenstadt but judging from video footage, books and legend, Moran has to be in there.

It doesn't look to rosy at the moment, our home form is dire, and we haven't got a pot to pee in. I suppose there's an optimistic/pessimistic way to take things at the moment, but is it easier to admit we're doomed to lighten the burden we potentially suffer at the end of the season (or alternately survive and be amazed), or not admit defeat until it potentially happens? I'm caught in two minds. My colleagues are arses, and they make it difficult to be a Saints fan, but I stand up and take the banter, as they do when their respective teams arse up. If I accept relegation, even at this stage in the season, I can turn around in May, shrug my shoulders and say "Meh, I told you it would happen", thus making it more bearable. Alternately, I could be defiant, tell them we'll be safe, and hope with every wish in my body that we stage a minor miracle. Tis a hard life for all Saints fans at the moment. What do you reckon?

To lighten the mood somewhat, can we put together a team of players who have only temporarily called themselves Saints players but done a good job of doing it? This can include players we've had on loan and then signed re: Rasiak. Thinking back, I suppose the one that sticks out is Ronnie Ekelund, but with so many loans in the last few years especially, can we make a full team? Would Jack Cork be in there? (Any Marcelo Sarmiento votes will not be taken seriously! :-))
