Re bierhoff, yes that was true I spoke to lowe about it - fell through due to personal terms, we tried hard to broker the deal. I don't think we could agree a fee for flo after the trial. Have been told by a well known member of this forum that he takes full credit for spreading false stories about lineker!

You may be able to get a few hints from training photos re squad numbers, however saints players have always worn random number training shirts shorts & bibs for as long as I can remember. So likewise there could be nothing in them at all I.e oxlade chamberlain wearing 7!

Agree with Alpine on the CM comment, we have hammond, MS and errrrr Wotton! What if MS & DH are crocked? should they be assured of their place (NO) Puncheon looks ineffective in CM & Butterfield a stop gap. TBH I think AP knows this anyway and is just being cute- I would still expect 3 more players at least.

I have to question the timing of this announcement

There have been a few threads with concerns about lack of incoming players, but I would consider it a major success & boost to keep hold of our best players:- Lambert Lallana Schniederlin Fonte Must admit most concerned about Lambert who is virtually irreplaceable at this level IMO. So far so good then...... Yes with their sales we could strengthen in other areas - but these guys proved this season they are/can be the best in this league which is vital to our promotion hopes. If Cortese can keep the vultures away this season he will have done very very well. Thoughts?.........

We have made what appears to be 2 good signings - 1 in a position we were not exactly weak in, but we still need CM, CF and wide player at least. I would like to see signings completed by now to bed in but its a tough market. slightly concerned but still confident we will still do a few deals. I would be delighted to sign both Papa and antonio, especially antonio but the trail appears to have gone cold.

I like dean hammond, was a good signing no doubt. But beyond MS & DH we have nothing. We need a quality addition in cm and it could be the differnce between success & failiure, fwiw I think we will get one.

Saw it in the west quay store and must say very underwhelmed. Quite right, no imagination and too plain. Maybe a grower but no individuality at all IMO. It is very inoffensive & better than a fair few in the last few years which were pretty offensive, but yeah dull.

I do like the shirt though it is very generic. Not a patch on the home though as that shirt is 100% bespoke for saints rather than a standard template used by many clubs.

Not bad, is identical template to Swansea away but with a red neck. This is a standard umbro 2010/11 template. Yes it does look like a training top. Looking forward to seeing it, I imagine it is on display in both stotres now.
