I was walking away from the ground moaning about the 2nd half, but then, while it would have been nice to have the same level of performance as the 1st half, stopped the whinging as 3 points are 3 points.

I really think that she should take a divvy, but it's of course her choice. Not sure what the loan amount is, but at least interest is being charged. Hopefully with the new TV deal coming up, everything can be paid back to her.

Disagree that our 1st XI is weaker. Pellè and Mané have improved on last season and that offers us much more up top and which over rides any weakening elsewhere. I guess Toby/VVD is somewhat subjective esp as it is hard to compare 2 players who play so differently. I think all/most would agree that VVD offers more up top, and I personally see little difference at the back. Of course one can be somewhat biased being a Saints supporter, but think VVD is no weaker at the back, so with the added attacking option, is an upgrade on Toby. Others will think it a downgrade and some will think it neutral. So it comes down to Morgan. I did think that some of his games, he wasn't at 100%. But the facts are that he missed 12 league games of which we lost 7 (out of 14 all season). 3 off those were at the end of the season against Sunderland, Leicester and Man City where the whole team seemed to have switched off. So we have Clasie instead, who of course at the moment is not at the level of Morgan - it would be unrealistic to expect someone who has played 3 league games to be at that level. Who knows what might happen and how he might develop. So to me, we are weaker with Morgan at the moment, but much stronger with Pellè and Mané, especially Pellè whose play this season has been superb.

Agree. While he doesn't ping the 40 yard pass that Morgan did (or not yet anywau) it is easy to forget that this is only his 3rd league game for us. I remember people booing Pelle at the ground and slagging him off on this forum, as they did with Mané as well.

Completely disagree with you. OK the word "derby" might have been somewhat basterdised, but a local derby it certainly can be considered to be. But really who cares whether it is or not? What difference does it make? It certainly doesn't make any difference to the 3 points that we will hopefully get. Disagree here as well. Rivalry is what ever you want it to be and is just a matter of opinion. Personally all the other PL teams are rivals, and I don't particularly care about history as the present is the important bit. If AFCB get some kick out of beating us, so be it. It's really not much different to many of our supporters getting some kick out of beating THFC. It may well have been bigged up by the press, but so what? You don't have to buy into their opinion. Me. I want the south coast to be well represented in the PL (of course with one exception) and hope AFCB (and us) survive and B&HA get promoted.
-
If we don't get 3 points, then I would be happy if it goes towards them surviving this season. Well actually I wouldn't be happy, but if anyone has to take points off of us, they are the ones that I would least mind.

How often does the pitch get replaced? If it is on a regular basis, then it might be possible to schedule some in but IIRC most clubs rip their turf up, when needing to returf, the day after the season closes thus allowing as much time as possible for the new turf to take. With the new TV deal kicking in, there seems little point trying to make a few hundred thousand when you might be risking hundreds of millions.

Agree, or if we do badly, 4th.

Queue was too long. I had cancelled and rebooked some tickets, and the TO had sent out a wrong one (one of the cancelled) before replacing it. Went to one of the stewards, said I'd left my glasses behind and said one of the tickets was wrong, got scanned and went in the side entrance. Ballox to queuing.

Funny how all those that used to be Saints supporters around me (other side of the A35 from Highcliffe) and indeed those that I have taken to SMS as Saints supporters (part time) have suddenly blossomed into Cherries.

I'm sorry to disagree, but I never viewed him in the same way. I also thought that his performances were not always 100% and if one had to go in the summer between him and Wanyama, I would have preferred it to be him. (But now Wanyama might or not have done the same things as well!!). To me, his heart wasn't wholly in it. Still, I would have preferred it if had stayed with us while giving 100%. But now, I don't care a jot, as he is part of our past, and I prefer to concentrate on the present.

The increased press area at the back of the Kingsland has taken out 5 rows and about 17 seats I think (it's just behind me) so that is only 85 seats. But what annoys me is that it is always empty unless a big team comes to town, and then it is usually the foreign press.

I wonder how important a signing he was. It announced our arrival on the scene and maybe agents saw us as people prepared to put their money on the table. That it hasn't worked out is another matter. But joke, sack the board and all that. Oh, I forgot that the board sacked itself. So who else can we blame for this absolute joke?

£15 - rip off. Mine cost £12. But Pluto, yes, I'd forgotten about his grand entrance to the forum.

There are but 20 teams in the PL. Is it really worth being total tits towards each other on every issue? Transfer dealings - fine. Banning people - petty.

Thought that he put in a pretty average performance tonight. Might well have been lacking match fitness, but the difference between someone like him and Tadic is huge (and yes, I know Tadic replaced Juanmi).

What really is the point of Man City's academy?

Whatever you say about Gaston, when the news came through that we signed him, I got a bit of a hard on.

Wonder when the comparisons with Alderweireld will come about? Surprised they haven't already. Put it this way Hoops, most of us were disappointed not to have tied up Alderweireld when he bunked off to Spuds, but now, looking back on things I am not sure that many would be disappointed with Virgil in his place. The one thing that he does offer better than Toby was an attacking presence especially at corners. The similarity between them is the calm way that they approach things. However, when I watched the Netherlands Turkey game, the same calm approach was used, but it came across as being slightly lackadaisical - maybe that was compounded by being on the losing side.

Am I right in thinking that we scored the fewest goals or headers from set pieces last season and the most this season?
