Poor Rickie, but Lovren...... Lil. The grass seems not to be quite so green but hey, he will be well paid. It will be fascinating to see if the Bleacher report article will play out or whether he will do well.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool LIVE: Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling, Mario Balotelli, Dejan Lovren and Glen Johnson set to be rested by Brendan Rodgers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2820574/Real-Madrid-vs-Liverpool-LIVE-Follow-Champions-League-action.html#comments Shame if true about Lovren. But if it is true, Brenda is a spineless fool, and I suspect the Scousers won't forgive him for this.

Presume it must be her. I quite like these productions, and let's face it, this one was pretty damn well produced.
-
Also read that one of the reasons that Cork has not yet been offered a contract is that we are trying to get Jordy Classie
-
Well, as Palermo seemed to have spent a wholly unrealistic £10.5m on him when he was 18, I can't imagine that they would want to sell for less than that. But €42m is them either saying no point blank, or (and more likely) the more typical attempts to raise the price.

Was tapping away on my mobile without my glasses!! Supposed to be "When he"

she. he gets suspended, who plays up front? Long? Can Mane? Mayuka?
-
Somehow I think it might be lost on Ludwig
-
You're not suggesting that he deliberately get's booked are you?
-
Yes that's part of it, but they had a shaky defence last season that really should have been plugged. Obviously signing Lovren was an attempt to. But granted, the attack - replace Suarez with Lambert and Balotelli, and recall Borini??? Maybe it wasn't envisaged that Sturridge would be off games for so long. (I also worry about that with Saints - if Pelle.....)
-
That might be so, but with FFP regulations, there is not an incentive for clubs to drop prices. However, their home attendances have been woeful really. The ground holds 42,700 odd and their current home attendances.... NUFC - 30k Hull - 28k Arse - 40k Man C- 33k Spuds - 32k So say they are about 10k down, rather than charge £41 they could knock £10 off a ticket and be up if they attracted several thousand more. But could they attract that many more? Given the way they are going, I wouldn't be surprised if our game has a lower attendance than their game against Hull. Still, its better than the £60 odd that some are asked to play.
-
By the same token, I find Liverpool fascinating. They sold one player, and one player retired and everything seems to have gone backwards. OK Suarez was top quality and Carragher had the desire and leadership skill set. But even so, I can't understand what they have done. They like to claim it is different from Spurs, but that's exactly what it looks like. Sell a world class player and replace with numerous good & overpriced ones, some who will look to not be very good after all.

Let's face it, Saints hardly rival Fernebache But having said that, at Hull this w/end, you could hear players/managers shouting. Maybe it was the effects microphones, but generally it is down to how quiet it is. I haven't heard that at SMS unless there is a very low (cup) attendance.

You know what, I care so little about this article that I hardly bothered with it. But, since we stopped standing, all atmospheres have suffered.

This is the standard pundit comment at the moment where 2nd place, unless inhabited by an elite club, doesn't count as they won't be there at the end of the season.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29874435 Shiver me timbers. Clyney and Big Vic. Toby goes about his job with such calmness that I doubt he will ever get selected.
-
Just think though, we turned a good profit on him (and then gave most of it to Hull). He is the one that I am enjoying his struggles the most and I am looking forward to his time vs Real, where I hope that they don't give up at half time and really spank them 8-0. But being more serious, I am living in the past where there was still some honour in the world. Lovren's behaviour shows him up for what he is. He is not unique and this is modern football - it's just that in this case, we were the club that got trodden on. He did well last season, but at White Hart Lane, there was a serious exposure of his frailties that seemed to creep in post injury. Maybe that was towards the end of the season when his mind was already elsewhere or maybe I am rewriting things. I would love to know the dealings between him and Liverpool, and when that all started. (Also when Lallana was tapped up.) Just for curiosities sake as well as reinforcing my feelings on how morally corrupt football is these days.
-
I think that very unfair. Do you really think we could be where we are in the first season back? I think some seem to forget that this is but our third season back.
-
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but Steve Bruce......how refreshing it is to hear his interviews (hence why I like him so much). He doesn't do what most managers do when they lose and say, "I thought that we were the better team in the first half and deserved something from the game". So refreshing to be as unbiased as he possibly can in his interviews.
-
Whether RK's methods are better than MP's, I really really enjoyed our pressing game last season and the way we closed the opposition down like a pack of rabid dogs.
-
In life (ie the big bad world), I would agree with you. But this is football, and we have been jilted by a number of people. I am not one for going into "but we can still be friends" once we have been shafted, so take immense and very puerile pleasure that some are struggling. Lambert I do feel a little sorry for, but then, he isn't a naive fool so he surely knew what he was letting himself in for. Hard to turn down, but it was his choice. The only one that I do feel sorry for, is Shaw, as he isn't the brightest spark and probably quite malleable. However, I do think that he'll come good, and I do realise that this is more about those that joined L'pool and Spurs. And that quote from Lovren questioning our ambition in order to engineer his move....because it was so disingenuous, I think he takes pride of place in my puerile desire for him to fail. In the real world, I wouldn't really care, but this is football.

Must sign Toby and Bertrand up..................
angelman replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
I think most of it is about Koeman. All reports state that he is a bit special. Will he stay with Saints would be the question I would be asking if I was a player. -
What would Wanyama go for? £25m - £30m? Given that Brenda has spunked away £125m, not sure whether he will be allowed more or not.
-
I read somewhere that that is 320 minutes in the PL since we let one in, presumably Spuds.

God there are some big girl's blouses on here. Did Forster have a save to make? Wanyama my MotM
