Tough ****. As has been said, Karma's a *****. I really hope that they all see and realise that the grass is not always greener elsewhere (although their bank balances might not agree). I think AL will have the fans on his back pretty soon unless he starts doing well (and in fairness he has just come back from injury). SRL - he will get the fans whinging as well, but then he really is an impact sub only. As for others, I actually hope LS comes good - he's not the brightest spark and it would be sad if he is spat out. CC a little ambivalent.

Not sure I agree with you about being under rated by the fans. Certainly it seemed that MP under rated him. Maybe signing £12m Wanyama clouded the issue. But when injury meant that he had to be picked, he showed his true worth. This season, RK is still trying to find the best formation. Seeing Cork playing so far up the pitch second half was very interesting. So first half, he kept £12m Wanyama out, and second half he replaced £12m Long (in a position that £12m Ramirez would occupy). OK, some of his touches second half weren't perfect, but he wasn't in a position that he is normally occupying. Sign him up ASAP.

I must confess to having fallen asleep watching it. Did Gaston actually do anything? I know it has been asked above, but no real answer given. HDM rated him: Gaston Ramirez (for Hernandez 78 ) The on-loan playmaker will crave an extended stage to weave his magic. 6

Watching the game and thinking how poor both sides look.

Quite a nice article for once.....https://nz.sports.yahoo.com/football/news/article/-/24999120/

I agree that under NC we lost something. But, in his defence, we were in a pretty lowly place and look where we were when he got off the bus. Back in the PL and seemingly quite well established (if anyone outside of the elite can say that), maybe the club can afford to be a bit more gracious.

Maybe I am in a minority, but so what? Sure if they pay us shed loads that's good, but to have their logo on a shirt does not get me going.

Batman might be right when he states that clubs/players are inundated with charitable requests, and already have chosen charities, but I think that an ex-pro who played for 12 years (??) in the PL doing something like this isn't quite the norm. Not sure how many people run between all PL clubs in 3 weeks. PL clubs could quite easily have found £5k each down the back of the boardroom sofa. And then the players could probably have found that in loose change in their Ferrari's ashtray. Given the amount of money sloshing around, it is a shame. While no one should be beholden to give to charity, you might have thought that it would present a good photo opportunity to them and the PL as a whole. So I guess Batman must be right. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2014-15/sep/former-southampton-defender-francis-benali-close-to-completing-1000-mile-run-for-cancer-research.html PL seem happy to cash in though!!!

OK, as Doodsy said, fair does to Garth for coming out so quickly and saying that he might be wrong (still a long way to go, but we all know how things are looking). But as for the Team of the Week, it is a little too predictable. If you score a goal you have a chance of being in. If you score a winning goal (esp in a 1-0) then you are almost certain to get in. If you score more than one goal you are likely to get in, depending on how many others there are who score more than one goal. If you play for an "elite" club then you have more chance of getting in. That is the majority, and Senderos proves that this doesn't always apply.

I think that the biggest problem for him will be how he slots into the team. At SMS last season, it was largely him having a free reign and others fitting around him as he changed sides and wandered all over the place. Not sure he will get that opportunity at Liverpool. If the role he was given when playing for England is anything to go by, then he might be in for a difficult season, and have the "fans" on his back quite quickly.

Looking at things, maybe the squad is better not just from a bit of strengthening but maybe more the change of management.
-
In fairness though, it was in the last minute, NUFC had given up knowing that the game was lost. There was no pressing, just sitting back waiting for the final whistle.
-
Almost as bad as the announcer at SMS who said that the first substitute was Mayuka (for Long).
-
Memorable moment was the rather lovely Kenzie walking round the pitch.
-
Pap bit harsh on Long. He started like a rabid terrier, got clobbered and that was really that. Suspect maybe mild concussion??
-
interesting seeing Cork so far forward. Thought he did well and offers an interesting option.

It would be nice to see PL football players digging into their pockets, and maybe the clubs as well. 20 PL clubs @ a mere £1k each = £20k say 20 squad players per club @ a mere £1k each = £400k Would love, love it if Saints and NUFC presented him with a big **** off cheque
-
What time is he turning up at SMS? I'd like to be there and if before 2.40/2.45 I'll have to change plans.
-
Maybe, but frankly I care very little how PL football players feel and any complaints they might have fall on completely deaf ears. They are overly well paid, live in some sort of bubble detached from reality which leads them to not know how to behave properly.

http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/sport/football/11462706.First_start_on_hold_for_Saints_new_boy/?ref=rss A shame that Mané looks like he won't be playing. Was rather looking forward to seeing his pace.

If we are ever going to get anywhere, we have to be ruthless with selection. No place for Rooney, Wilshere etc etc. And Danny Rose in the squad. **** me we must be desperate, but I guess when the Pie Man gets back on games, he will slot in there.
-
For me, the midfield is weak, offers no protection to the defence who can crumble under the pressure. At the same time, the forwards don't get great service. So, sort out the midfield and get rid of Rooney and we might be going somewhere.
-
Why did Man Utd sell Welbeck? I would have flogged Rooney.
-
Surely if Lallana can get some fitness and form, he must be a shoe in in the midfield.
-
Are we ever again going to see Rooney like he used to be?
