  1. Has Marsden signed yet?
  2. I enjoyed it, in fact you beat me to it.
  3. I agree very unlikely. Interesting However that over the last 8 games we have gained 17(!) points on another south coast team beginning with B who were flying and very consistent etc.
  4. Was he the chap a certain Neil Ruddock head-butted during the Brantfoot era? Against Notts County I think. If I remember Neil ran the entire length of the field to get involved in the rumpus, "cocked his head back" as he passed the halfway line and then landed the butt on wrong man. I remember the chap sitting next to me almost collapsing with laughter as the inevitable red card was brandished. Classic Ruddock.
  5. Didn't we play them at the Dell on the following Tuesday with Golac in for Williams and absolutely steamroller them? I remember Golac putting Terry Curran in the stands early on and we never looked back - going unbeaten till the end of the season.
  6. This is about as likely as picking up 8 points.
  7. Spot on, except I don't think Shilton was in goal. It was the Keegan era and he missed the second leg. I didn't see the goal but I remember listening to Solent fading in and out from a hill in northern France and the commentator went bonkers.
  8. Anthony Pulis Andre Kanchelskis Olivier Bernard Forbes Philipson-Masters Bradley Wright-Philips
  9. I will luv it if we beat them. Simple as that.
  10. Bizarrely, I think I went to a panto once where one half of the audience was asked to sing: The wheels on the bus go round and round round and round, round and round The wheels on the bust go round and round All Day Long Whilst at the same time the other half were singing in time... Oh when the saints, go marching in. Oh when the saints go marching in. I wanna be in that number. Oh when the saints go marching in. Seemed to work quite well.
  11. It has also been done before and allowed:
  12. No doubt Fergie will be aware that his predecessor got the sack after being turned over by the Saints, with a couple of goals from an up and coming young winger.
  13. I can't believe any saints fans have a problem with BO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ca9PN_uBXc
  14. They were ridiculous things. He had to score a hat-trick away from home in the Champions league and stuff like that. Never going to happen.
  15. Funny enough I was in Boston just after we moved from the Dell (and just before this bloke took over the Red Sox) and when I visited the stadium I remember thinking it had a lot in common with The Dell (although on a U.S. Scale obviously). Interesting that he managed to make a tiny stadium work and even deliver a league title for the first time in 70 odd years, whereas we got a shiny new stadium and League 1, and now he's apparently looking at us for inspiration!
  16. He reminded me of a young Ferenc Puskas. Slightly better in the air tho. He really came of age on Saturday. All credit for Adkin's for Guly's dropping earlier in the season.
  17. About the same time we signed Speedie - I reckon they will score more goals than Shearer.
  18. Not quite. Pretty sure Luggy didn't make this point when he took over from WGS.
  19. Agreed. I think changing a line, permanently, would be a fitting tribute. Oh when the saints, go marching in. Oh when the saints go marching in. Marching on, with markus liebherr. Oh when the saints go marching in.
  20. I think the last home win was 1988 v West Ham, despite the fact that nearly all (c20?) of our opening games have been at home. It was 4-0 tho, with a great 4th from MLT.
  21. Interesting comment in response to this, which I had never heard before "I lived in Mexico in 1994 and on south American ESPN during each adverts they used to show El Le Tissier 'alto cinco' (top five) goals on TV." Matt's best goals in every advert break? Perhaps something for ITV to consider.
  22. Just a thought: I remember reading somewhere the ML never borrowed any money for his businesses - very unusual I would have thought in the world of business, especially engineering. I wonder if he's not keen on encouraging fans into borrowing to pay for their season ticket?
  23. Are you saying there are companies out there who are willing to 'lend' someone money and make a profit by charging that person a 'fee' or 'interest'? This could catch on.
  24. On whether we will get a prestige friendly, didn't AP make some rather disparaging remarks about whoever set up the Ajax friendly last year - along the lines of "God knows who had the bright idea of playing matches against the likes of Ajax - it is not going to help us winning matches in League 1." Are the season tickets prices really that late? I seem to remember it was always after the end of the season when we were at the Dell and it seems to be quite a recent thing that the date has got earlier and earlier. One reason is the perilous financial state of many clubs. I suspect we are waiting for the ideal time because we can afford to. (Crystal Palace were selling season tickets for 2010/11 in October 2009!!!)
