  1. No we're getting back to an earlier question. What prompted Barclays to recall their overdraft? If the interest payments are being made and the balance is coming down why pull the plug knowing that you'll only get back a fraction of the money owed?
  2. All cheating is immoral. 'And when the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name.....'
  3. That's an interesting point. It could be that the footabll club will have to continue paying a commercial rate for the stadium. Who knows what the new owners of the stadium might charge? If it's the same as before then where is the advantage gained?
  4. Especially when their chairman has explicitly stated that there was a right to appeal, no that there was a right to appeal but it would be withdrawn as soon as the club had a new owner. Nobody in the League has stated that the time limit for an appeal had expired which would have been the first response if that were the case.
  5. I'm sure that this is all part of the current negotiations, as would be the case with any buyer if the club is to be sold. Like most of us I have been logging in regularly hoping for some good news but I think we've now reached the endgame so we should all get out and enjoy the sun whilst we can.
  6. There was some comment from Fry at the time to the effect that we had lodged an intention to appeal, or similar. As I remember, the wording was so that new owners would have the option of appealing. (I nearly wrote 'an appealing option').
  7. Is this the same Kachloul who score the first two against Arsenal in the last game at the Dell? And the same Berkovic who scored in the 6-3 against Man U? Such precious memories that I can forgive them their later indiscretions.
  8. But the -10 points would have no effect until nearer the end of the season. Are they expecting the process to take longer than that?
  9. It's too soon to draw conclusions about the consequences of administration. We shan't know for sure for another season or two, in my opinion.
  10. I also found this part of the statement strange. UmP and I were discussing this a couple of days ago and he thought this might relate to the possible alternative of starting next season in League 2 with no deductions, as was apparently offered to Leeds, although in their case they were a completely new company whereas we would continue with the existing one.
  11. You can't blame him for giving it a go with us. Oh.

  13. It should have gone oow.
  14. A full house for the first game of the season.
  15. This link from another thread say that Rotherham, Bournemouth & Luton all had the same sort of deal: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8113850.stm
  16. Something in the Sun: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2494616/Le-Tissier-is-on-a-loser.html?OTC-RSS&ATTR=Football Reiterates what we have been hearing.
  17. Could it be a loan.......?
  18. You could well be right. As I asked elsewhere, Leeds was a new company whereas SFC Ltd. would stay unchanged. Of course, the League make up the rules as they go along so they might well argue that what we would be doing would amount to 'substantially the same thing'.
  19. This wouldn't be a new company, would it? SFC Ltd. would continues as the same legal entity.
  20. What I cannot understand is the League's comment that it: 'has the responsibility to ensure all League clubs start the season with certainty as regards the competition they compete in.' Surely no one is disputing that we start next season in league 1? (and it should say 'the competition in which they compete')
  21. Can't be worse than last season.
  22. They don't consider you important. Relax, it won't make any difference to the timescale. I've learnt not to get worked up about things I can't control.
  23. Well put. This is a Kafkaesque situation where a club that enters administration will have an initial 10 point deduction with a right to appeal that decision. Any such club will almost certainly have new owners and the convention is that they must waive that right of appeal. So in practice, no appeal can ever be held.
  24. Their own rules provide for them to be able to vary the rules.
  25. FIN relax & tune in again on Tuesday.
