  1. Couldn’t they just scrape off what’s left and use it on their toast?
  2. Has he signed yet?
  3. Because it’s a political statement. The same applies to all politicians.
  4. Pah! They could do that with their eyes closed.
  5. It's not who you know, it's who you bl..
  6. But think of the money saved on a groundsman
  7. That furlough money paid taxes too.
  8. Don't be so melodramatic. Who feeds those poor businesses that have folded because of forced closures?

    Russia

I was thinking of just the ships that are stationed there. Sevastopol has always been a base for the Russian Black Sea fleet ever since the independence of Ukraine. It has been besieged twice, during the Crimean War and World War 2. I have visited it (been driven through it) during a day tour.

    Russia

That brings Sevastopol within range of Ukraine’s Neptune missiles.
  11. The thing that all these groups have in common is that they continued to get paid throughout the lockdowns. Now they want to bite the hands that feed them.
  12. Fairy muff.
  13. I hate call centres but that’s not a ‘small thing’ that annoys me. It’s massive.
  14. Let’s not rewrite history. He was just inside the area heading to the right and he tried to cut the ball back inside the far post. By no means a clear chance. Certainly not ‘clean through on goal’.
  15. United at home was a chance, but not a big chance. One that he created with his run, let us remember.

    Russia

Russia has just defaulted on its foreign loans for the first time since 1998 or for over a hundred years, take your pick.
  17. I was thinking of Tella. Apologies for not making that clear.
  18. They only wanted you for your money.
  19. It’s possible that any deposits are held in escrow accounts and released as the work progresses.
  20. Me too. Nothing to see here, move along please.
  21. That’s a concern for me. We need someone to score goals, not defend against them. If Ralph wanted a defender then why didn’t he buy one instead of a goalscorer?
  22. My wife saw the Beatles in 1963 at their Christmas show at the Finsbury Park Astoria. There was non-stop screaming from all the hysterical girls and she couldn’t hear a thing from the stage. She assures me that she was not one of those who were screaming and I have to believe her. She was fourteen at the time.
  23. Rodney Marsh, …Ramsey, "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at half time," to which Marsh responded: "Crikey, Alf, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."
  24. He’d still have his favourites.
