Too many defensive changes, every game it’s different players in a different formation.

Hasenhuttl ...can we criticise him yet...
Whitey Grandad replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
We are still suffering from the bloated squad resulting from the last few managers. Unfortunately we have got rid of the players that were wanted by other clubs and we are left with the ones we couldn’t sell or loan. -
We all have our different opinions of course but on the one hand you’re saying that he stays on his line too much yet on the other you are blaming him for the first?
-
It would probably have made no difference. He came out as far as he could and you might argue that he should have stayed back in goal but then Abrahams could just have slotted it past him. The indecision came because the ball landed on the edge of the penalty area and Abraham’s got lucky with the lob. On balance of probable outcomes he probably made the right decision to come out. All told it was a bit of a fluke. For the second he was horribly exposed and I don’t see what more he could have done. We were comfortably beaten by a team who didn’t have to break into a sweat.

Yep, that’s where we belong. More games and 3 o’clock kickoffs on a Saturday. What’s not to like? Yes, I know there are sometimes odd kickoff times but in general they’re more friendly.

Yep. Starts with the wrong formation. Again. We were never going to beat Chelsea by trying to hold onto the ball and pass it around at the back. No point making substitutions with only ten minutes left. -
Gunn wasn’t the reason we lost today. I don’t know what game you were all watching. He had no chance with any of the goals, made one good save with his leg and held on to everything else that was fired at him.

A midfield trio of Romeu, Højbjerg, and JWP is never going to set the world alight. Too ponderous, slow to control the ball and poor passing. No spirit, no ambition, no plan.

My eldest granddaughter has recently graduated and my second-oldest has just started her course and is getting plastered every weekend. I'm not really jealous.

This is not about what happened in the past but about what will happen in the future.

When you’re at a meeting and you realise that you’re the oldest person in the room. This started happening to me some twenty years ago. But you’re not really old until everybody ignores you and you become invisible. Hello? Anybody out there?

We have to balance the failures with the financial successes. Sure, we have signed a lot of players who have not turned out as well as had been hoped but we have also made some profits on sales. Much of the waste can be put down to the high turnover of managers each with their different playing styles and preferences.

Not the same club though, is it.

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal

Mata wouldn’t just have got a cross in. He would have waltzed through the back of the defence and had a much closer opportunity on goal. There was nobody behind Cedric. -
They can’t until they take the Oath of Allegiance.

I don’t know what you were hoping to show but I think you’ve proved my point. Let me put it this way, where do you think the FTSE should be today? It has achieved nothing in 20 years despite the boost to It’s value from dollar earnings.
-
And why should I? Whether I agree with that point or not is irrelevant. Life’s not fair and I don’t have to be even-handed.

Which playground do you live in? Am I supposed to go through several thousand posts trying to find every one that uses silly terminology? I don’t give a toss about the rest of the world, I was referring to the word that you and others have used. It’s time you learnt that the world’s not fair. Please Sir! Please Sir! That nasty man told me off but he didn’t do the same for anybody else. It’s not fair! Now look what you’ve made me do ?
-
What? Am I now to be criticised for not criticising every instance of name-calling that anybody might have said, ever? Yeah, it's alwasys somebody else's fault, isn't it? Let's deal with one thing at a time.
-
Go back another few years, the last decade say.
-
That is so unbelievably childish of you. I cannot speak for others so I only speak for myself. My criticism is aimed at you and you alone.
-
Tu Quoque is such a feeble debating technique. If you can't recall any criticism it's perhaps there isn't any? Can we please maintain at the least some pretence of sensible debate.

From The Sunday Times, "At the interval Hasenhuttl chided his midfielders for becoming overly eager in their attempts to dispossess Pogba, as two or three players pressing the France international at the same time left the team vulnerable if they failed to win the ball. What was interesting, though, was that Southampton saw a chance to recover the ball every time Pogba got on the ball — and he did give away a lot of possession." -
Everything that Johnson does or says is aimed at domestic consumption. Here is Sir Ivan Rogers's latest essay on the implications of no-deal. https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/09/ivan-rogers-the-realities-of-a-no-deal-brexit/

Anyone who uses terms like ‘Remoaner’ cannot expect to be treated as a serious adult.
