It’s easy to keep your head out of the way of a shot if you’re looking straight at it but he did his best to avoid it altogether. He should have run headlong towards Grealish and at the same time letting him know that he was coming. At the very least it gives the attacker something else to think about and that might be the difference between flying into the top corner or going wide of the post.
