  1. I wish him well. Shame it didn't work out here.
  2. Yes indeed. Very much noticeable over the last twenty years.
  3. Totally meaningless. That lists the UK and not England (yes, I know the title says UK).
  4. Frighteningly overcrowded.
  5. The 3000 could have been messed up by the change of date.
  6. As compared with Byram's stamp on Bertrand ' ankle. Clattenburg made great show of claiming that the challenge was on the ground.
  7. He reached for his back pocket first, which is where the refs usually keep their red card. Where did Clattenburg keep his yellow during this game?
  8. Only that sometimes the holocaust is portrayed as the most despicable aspect of the war. There were other extensive massacres of civilians in other spheres of operation such as Russia and China. What makes the Jewish extermination programme so chilling is the cold-blooded nature of it.
  9. I totally agree, but it must not be forgotten that this was not the only despicable episode in this whole sorry affair.
  10. My uncle was in the RAF Regiment and visited Belsen at the end of the war. It put him off ever having any children, he didn't want to bring them into this world.
  11. It was only the island of Hong Kong and Kowloon that were leased in perpetuity, the New Territories reverted to China in 1997 and the rest was untenable without them.
  12. An extensive tram system would be wonderful and just what this region needs but Hampshire County Council gave up hope of that many years ago when the government wouldn't put up any money. They've given to all to deprived areas up north, probably ones with more votes in the balance.
  13. We still have Leicester away to look forward to. At the moment there's nobody bigger!
  14. An interesting point, but I don't think I would find Liverpool winning the Europa Cup very amusing.
  15. What happens if the team finishing 5th wins the FA Cup?
  16. I only saw Kelvin's saves against Leeds on a short recording but I thought that the shots were straight at him too, but isn't good positioning the mark of a good keeper?
  17. He was blaming the officials after losing 4-0 at our place. It's always someone else's fault.
  18. Don't you have to have an account for Twitter?
  19. Whorls
  20. I'm too old and past it now, but any business that sells into the EU can only suffer. Or is anyone suggesting that it would be easier and less costly?
  21. Norway had to when they negotiated their deal with the EU. The assumption (doesn't come from me) is that Britain would need to do the same. We wouldn't know until we tried, of course, but simply hoping for the best is not the basis for a reasoned decision, I would have thought.
  22. They have to have a job first before coming here, but that wasn't my point which was, if we haven't and can't or won't stop the non-EU people from coming here up to now, what makes you think that we will suddenly put up the shutters after leaving the EU? There's also the argument that most of those (EU) who wanted to come are already here and will not be repatriated after an exit are still going to be here. Plus, of course, if we wanted a trade deal with the EU we would have to sign up to the free movement of labour as well as goods.
  23. 'Careful not to kill anyone'? The way they stormed the barracks not knowing that they were empty belies that point.
