Sepp Blatter considers "review of decsions"
Whitey Grandad replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
There's no such thing as level. He was comfortably nearer the goal than the defender. This is not athletics or horse racing, 'any part' of his body (except arms) is enough, not just the chest. -

But the line isn't accurate, and it should be a vertical plane, not a line. Running the line is a very specialised job which requires a lot of practice and it's not until you've tried it that you appreciate what's involved. -

That was an obvious mistake and I referred to this rare type of instance (might be on the other thread). Surely we're not talking about introducing this system for a once-a-season instance? -

Your blind faith in technology is more disturbing. If you knew every imaging process that took place before you see the final 2D image then you might be more reluctant to embrace it. The camera always lies. -

Most comments on offside that I have seen have been completely wrong. There have been the odd couple of obvious errors but in most cases the official has made the correct decision. The line that they draw is just an estimate and no more accurate than standing there and judging yourself, at least you're level with the second-last defender and can judge whether any part if the attacker (excluding the arms) is nearer the goal. Even then there's an element if judgment as to whether they are interfering or so on in any way. -
From any perspective it's a case of 2-0, job done.

No it isn't. The official on the line is in the best place in the stadium and is always level with the second-last defender. The TV angle is very rarely perpendicular to the line and is not detailed enough to see every part of the players' bodies. -

You can't judge handball on television, that's a subjective decision by the referee, and you can't judge offside on TV either. -

You can't judge offside by television. -
I still don't fully understand his '6 years' comment. I presume he's only looking at the situation from an entirely personal view, but if you sign a long term contract you should expect to be kept to its full term. Otherwise it would be like getting married on sale or return.

Wake me up when it's over. I can't get any coverage so I'm relying on you lot for a full and in-depth description of what's happening.

Don't agree David mate. TV dominates the sport too much already. When people say that they want a review then what they are really saying is that they want the decision changed. Pellè was actually offside. By the way, I'm actually in Sweden at the moment in Örebro with my missus. We spent last night in Mora and this morning we bought at large Dalahästar. -
It's ok to scout for players and identify targets but announcing it to the national press is not. It unsettles the player and 'turns their head'. Tapping up is specifically against Premier League rules and there have been several famous incidents. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapping_up http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4599103.stm

How can they 'target' anybody? That's not supposed to happen, they're supposed to go through the club first and once the transfer window is closed there should be no talk about any other players.

Yeah, but they knew nothing else. They all lived in one room. According to family legend her dad, my great-grandad, jumped in the canal to save somebody and caught pneumonia and died but when I dug out the records he had liver cancer anyway at the age if 35. Her mum couldn't cope and she and her little brother ended up in a Barnados home and eventually she was brought up by travelling relatives. The east end of London was not a nice place at the time but she described to me working around the open countryside in Hackney and such places. She paid a shilling a week to learn how to read and write.

My nan was 3 years old and living in Whitechapel at the time. She never said anything about it

It's usually the sound you notice first, there's no other like it.

On the field the captain has full control but you'd expect the team manager to have sorted this sort of thing out before the game.

It might have been one from Goodood: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?20002-SPITFIRE-OVER-OSLO And this might have had something to do with it: http://gramsluftfartsblogg.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/spit-pa-kjeller.html?m=1 Either way it was a lovely surprise b I'm horrified to hear about the Hurricane. If it was a sculpture by Canova there'd be a public appeal.

I'll do my bit. I shall be away so I won't have to watch it

We are in Oslo today and walking back from the Fram museum this afternoon I thought I heard a Merlin approaching from the east so I turned round to see a Spitfire passing overhead. It's amazing where you find them
-
It never confused me.

That's right, he's number 2 because Forster is the better keeper, but Boruc is being well-paid to be available if needed and if he's not prepared to accept that somebody else might actually be the better choice then he'll have to find a number 1 spot at another club, if anybody will have him.

Price mark-up on furniture is %100. It's expensive to sell because of the retail space it needs.
