Thanks, that makes nice reading and warms the cockles of you heart. I like the phrase 'after shifting all that dead wood'. The Deadwood stage has left town

Clyne was the other side of the pitch so I don't know what he could have seen. The alleged incident happened right below me in the Kingsland and right under the assistant's nose and I certainly didn't see any knee but the two players were very close and there may have been some personal contact. Tadic was obviously upset about something and wasn't the same player afterwards. Personally, I think he was having a protest about some earlier incident
-
Clean sheet, luvverly jubbly Tadic went off the boil for the last twenty minutes, whether it was a knee in the bum or just tiredness I don't know and I though Long might have come on for him just to dole out some of their own medicine. Perhaps he's being saved for the Cup

Sad news about your brother, my condolences to you and your family. Depending on your journey details you might want to consider the National Express coach direct from the airport: http://www.nationalexpress.com/wherewego/airports/heathrow-airport.aspx

Yes indeed. I could never understand why Currys online had lower prices than their stores. People we going in to choose and then ordering at home.

Nobody gets the points and it avoids a replay. I expect the +3 goal difference will stay but EUFA are a law unto themselves.

Thanks for taking the trouble NickG, if we can't dream now then when? -

From 2006 but I don't think the criterion has changed: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2006/aug/23/theknowledge.sport "As a rule, if the initial attempt is goalbound it is credited to the player making the goal attempt," explained a Premier League spokesman. "However if the deflection means that a wayward effort results in a goal then it is attributed to the player who had the last definitive touch of the ball."

I don't see why we need to contribute more for the benefit of other Europeans. Most of them are living over here already

And 'cup tied'. -
It's clear as daylight that Mane is aiming for the right of the goal and the ball deflects in off Van Aanholt's outstretched foot. His shot is on target so what's the problem? They can't seriously think that Van Aanholt's gets there ahead of Sadio, can they?
-
I posted this on the match thread: Absolutely ridiculous decision. I said earlier that Mané was aiming for the other side of the goal but there's no way that was an own goal. His shot was on target and it deflected off the defender's attempted block. Somebody needs to teach these idiots how football works. Does this now mean that every time a shot gets a nick off a defender it's going to be classed as an own goal? Pillocks.
