  1. Sometimes it's mental sharpness that's needed as much as physical. This is a busy period and we need to harvest our resources carefully.

Or is he a £4m pile of crap? I shall start with an open mind today, but I shall be paying special attention to him. I never boo or groan but I applaud or cheer where it is deserved.
  3. Impressive, but not necessarily a good thing. Sometimes it's the timing of the runs that is important.
  4. Ok, ta. I've normally got my TV thingy set to record them and then I skim through later.
  5. Thanks for this. 4:15 is an unusual time, isn't it normally 4:05?
  6. From memory, I think what you are talking about is dissociation which increase with higher temperatures. Covalent bonds are very strong but there is always some movement and this increases with higher activation energies. External stimulus in the form of radiation or electrical discharge also increases the process. There's a short article here: http://chemistry.proteincrystallography.org/article36.html

Usually the cross will end up in the crowd behind the goal.
  8. How was Vegard Forren?
  9. I thought you meant you were eating mince tarts.

He can't kick a ball properly.
  11. Yep, he's the reason we're not scoring.
  12. Oh dear, another clean sheet... ...for the opposition.
  13. Thanks, I saw that it was a film but more than that I did not know. I don't think any amount of magic could have made me a better footballer
  14. I'm not sure, they might have been. They were so old that any marking would have rubbed off but I don't think branding came in until the 70s anyway. They might have been my grandfather's. Or his grandfather's...
  15. Hi SOG. Sorry to hear of your situation. It's a terrible worry when you're not on hand to give what help you can. Thankfully this condition is taken a lot more seriously these days and help is on hand. All best wishes, we shall all be thinking of you at this difficult time.
  16. Nah, in my day boots were real boots and came halfway up your legs. The studs were made of a stack of circles of leather and were nailed to the sole. If you got caught by a kcik you stayed kicked. These modern slippers are rubbish:thumbdown:
  17. Not until we're in League 1.
  18. At least Ramirez is a goal threat.
  19. I suppose he gives defenders an outlet ball by making himself available.
  20. Agreed. The situation seems to be getting very lax.
  21. 'City'? I presume you mean Villa. Other than that I agree with all you say.

    Hesketh

He was taken out. Retaliation for his challenge on their keeper?
  23. It was an obvious touch that a ref in a better position must have spotted. In a situation like this it's up to the ref to check with his assistant as to whether he had seen the flick-on. Even watching on TV You could see it at the time. Old Trafford bias.
  24. This what I used to have: http://www.simoncars.co.uk/bond/slides/Bond%20Minicar%20Mark%20F%201959%20Family%204S%20front.jpg It had a single-cylinder 197cc Villiers two-stroke.
