  1. Yes, I've always liked him.
  2. I said smaller, not lower than us in the table and by smaller, I didn't mean smaller than us, just smaller than the big five.
  3. This club is not run for the benefit of Artur Boruc.
  4. The fact remains that we let in three goals and were caught in the break. I'm not too bothered about this top-half/bottom-half of the table stuff. Tottenham ended above us because they beat us twice.
  5. I remember being at Old Trafford and trying to work out what the difference was between the teams. It seemed to me that Man U would defend resolutely and then all of a sudden everybody would press forward and overwhelm the opposition (us). I don't know if there was some signal to do it or whether they just sensed the right moment.
  6. Succint, and to the point.
  7. Oh. Which is playing the part of Les?
  8. Never confuse activity with action.
  9. I remember what I saw. Perhaps my memories are counted by the fact that I only went to home games. Don't forget we couldn't beat Sunderland over four games.
  10. A lot of the smaller teams wised up to us pretty quickly. We were hit on the break quite a few times and found it very hard to recover from going a goal down.
  11. More about Lovren in the Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2726131/Liverpool-s-new-20million-defender-Dejan-Lovren-Fleeing-horror-war-homeland-strong.html It just mentions us in passing.
  12. That's no way to talk about our players
  13. Man Utd I suppose, but Liverpool would do instead.
  14. Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Wonderful aircraft and beautiful designs. We have two blue plaques in Southampton for their designers: R. J. Mitchell: http://openplaques.org/plaques/1392 2 Russell Place Roy Chadwick: http://openplaques.org/plaques/1409 38 Chessel Street
  15. Well, resolved for the moment anyway. Next year is a long time in football and everything will look a lot different by then. He may have seen how the deserters have fared in their new clubs and decide that he's better off staying here, or maybe we'll be looking down on them all front the upper end of the table, or who knows?
  16. This, basically. You can't have a player telling the manager who he should play. There will only be one winner.
  17. Hairy muff. The situation has been resolved, deal with it and move on.
  18. His best chance of getting a move (or playing for France) is to knuckle down and put in some outstanding performances.
  19. Me too. I got my first two in 1966. Good luck to all those of you out there. Let's hope all turns out well and remember, university isn't everything, sometimes getting out there and getting work experience is better in the long run. And there's money being earned!
  20. We've screwed everybody else so far.
  21. I think losing him will have a much bigger effect on them than losing whatsisname will have on us.
  22. Good, I'm pleased with this.
  23. And David Howells. Doesn't he still live in Hedge End or somewhere?
  24. And ambitious
  25. I still think we do.
