Different games. Same clubs but different teams and different circumstances. You can't draw any inferences from the results, but you can enjoy being a Saints fan at the moment.

It wasn't a primary school. The only factor that matters is the way that the models were chosen. The only racist aspect of this is those people who associate a black person with a monkey. The truly innocent see nothing wrong with it. As I said, don't go looking for racism where it doesn't exist.

Three subs out of seven is enough, surely?

Well said Pap. I sincerely hope that this delightful run of victories will build confidence and understanding in the team before we meet the bigger boys. At the moment they're under our feet and let's trample them down a bit further.

Very pleasant reading. Thanks.

Cut him some slack, it might be Apple auto-correct. That's what I always blame.

I haven't bought a suit for years. The last one was for my daughter's wedding. She never wore it, went for some white dress instead. (Boom boom) Back in the 60s and 70s everybody wore suits everywhere and the were all made to measure at places like Burtons or John Collier for £12 to £14. Based on that the off the peg prices today are very reasonable and getting them professionally altered seems a good idea.

Whenever we win I have a modest celebratory beer so yes, I do struggle to stay awake but it's worth it

Without Ings and Vokes for any length of time they are really going to struggle.

Mané played against a GB team which included Ryan Bertand and Caulker at the 2012 Olympics, Cork was on the bench: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19003116 I can't say I remember him.

Too late for me, I came in from cutting the grass and turned on to see the exciting climax. Who won?

Anybody Else Doing Strange Rituals For Good Luck
Whitey Grandad replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
I did everything right yesterday so we all have me to thank for our crushing victory. I was wearing my lucky Saints key ring on my belt in its usual place. I've had it for nearly twenty years and we can all see the results but if the players ever come running out and see that I'm not wearing it then were in for a hiding. -
No problems, great debating with you. We used to have similar debates about Papa Waigo, he doesn't have to play so as to be technically onside, he just has to time his runs so that the flag doesn't go up no matter what any of us might think. I'm sure the club will be taking him through special training. He's fast enough anyway that he can afford to hang back a yard.

Anyone else think we could be on the verge of something special?
Whitey Grandad replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
To me, we have always been something special -
I think we're definitely going to need him before the end of the season. The only problem is that it usually takes several games to get back to match fitness.

Can you remember about what time that run was? There was one occasion on about 64 mins when Mané was well offside in their half and a few of those around me were giving the assistant a few mouthfuls.
-
I thought I was being polite! I was merely supporting my colleagues in the refereeing community and hoping to explain their decision-making. Of course I'm happy that we are doing so well, but there was nothing wrong with any of the officials yesterday, I didn't see one mistake, which is unusual.
-
The ref will always take the assistant's flag in these cases. Believe it or not, these games are analysed by the FA from several camera angles and all the officials are taken through their performances in the interests of improving their decision making. There is one camera that just follows the referee throughout the game.

He was offside every time, sometimes well offside. Before you berate the assistant on the line I recommend that you take the time to learn the offside law and its implementation. There is no such thing as 'benefit of the doubt' and 'any part of a player’s head, body or feet' is sufficient to be offside. If you don't like it, take it up with FIFA. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/worldfootball/clubfootball/01/37/04/27/interpretation%5flaw11%5fen.pdf

The important thing about the BBC is that they don't have to pander to viewing figures, and if they gave more coverage to other clubs it might redress the balance somewhat and reduce the dominance of the big few.

The earlier you are the more coverage you tend to get.
