  1. What did Arsène say? "Everyone thinks they have the prettiest wife at home".
  2. I can see how you feel the way that you do, but this is the way that it is these days. Premier League clubs are rich man's (person's) playthings and by rich I mean billionaires. I don't find the situation embarrassing or humiliating in the least. We are in a short period of adjustment, teams come and go and players may change but the club is still the same. What do you want, some rich person to buy the club and subsidise our entertainment by pouring money down the gullets of players and agents every year? Our ticket money buys a seat at the ground, not part of the club.
  3. They're a bigger club with a much bigger turnover, what did you expect?
  4. Have you met my wife?
  5. I can't believe how ungrateful you are. We as a club are in a far better state than a lot of others that I could mention. If you don't like the owners, why don't you buy it?
  6. They are the same thing these days.
  7. They are like women; their logic operates in a different dimension.
  8. More likely simplifying the club structure to make it cleaner for a new owner. Selling academy products at high prices might be to entice a buyer with proof of the academy's value.
  9. Yes, it's not very clear, is it? FA regulations appear to limit long-term loans (over 93 days) to a maximum of four from UK leagues, no more than 2 from any one club. Section 6.6.3: http://www.thefa.com/~/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/rules-of-the-association/2013-14/standardised-rules.ashx http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11381293.taider_set_to_arrive_from_inter___osvaldo_to_go_in_opposite_direction/?action=complain&cid=13020970
  10. Yes, very interesting. The links are also good reading. It all seems plausible to me.
  11. I'm optimistic about the new season
  12. Concerned but not worried - yet.
  13. And draws from being 2-0 up. We were not very good at coming from behind.
  14. That picture contains more than the value of most clubs.
  15. I've had a MacBook Air for a few years and I take it with me when travelling. I use VMware a Fusion for running XP which works ok. What I really hate about a Windows is all the sodding updates.
  16. He's lost his MoPo.
  17. How can you have a takeover bid for a privately owned company with a single owner?
  18. Don't you ever believe anything, Jeff?
  19. Well at least he might come in useful in the cups
  20. Hence the cunning plan of getting rid of the players first.
  21. Welcome to modern football. It stopped being a sport many years ago.
  22. Another £20m to £30m to go, I reckon.
  23. His goals for Peterborough might have denied us promotion so if we'd bought him he wouldn't have scored them. Possibly, if I've remembered right.
  24. Makes no difference. If there's cash in the bank they'd get more for the business. Fair point about reducing long term liabilities.
  25. I sincerely hope it's ciao, buon viaggio, addio, and not arrivederci. Buona Fortuna! Would probably be more appropriate to an Italian.
