When I called them recently I think it was the Philippines, but they were ok and spoke good English. I'm in Chandlers Ford and get very good speeds. I've now got three Tivo boxes so I can watch the footy in the conservatory or the bedroom when she's watching Coronation Street.

Let's just take it one cliché at a time.

Reminds me of the Newcastle game at the Dell, 3-1 was it?

If it's not part of the national curriculum then it should be.

I dunno. Seems fair to me.

It seems that alternate Windows operating systems are rubbish.

But what if playing on involves the other team scoring a legitimate goal (or two)?

I'm told that Windows 8 is even worse.

Were they really not sure what 'reasonable doubt' was? Sometimes I despair for the future of this country.

Judging by the drivel that gets spouted on MOTD I doubt that anybody would be satisfied. The majority of these so-called mistakes are nothing of the sort, and one team's loss is another's gain. Football is an imprecise sport played by a load of softies with a big soft ball on a rough patch of grass with white lines painted on it. There never will be 100% accuracy and in many cases the decision is never black and white but a matter of opinion and I prefer an independent official to a load of nerds in a tv studio. I find this blind faith in technology disturbing.

I treat them all with equal disdain. I have around 20 Windows-based machines in my business and two Windows and one Macbook that I use at home. It's not the writes to disk that slow the Windows down. I have just replaced my main desk PC with one running Windows 7 and it's taken me a week to start to get the setup near to something that I can use productively. What has struck me is how similar the look and feel is to Mac OS. Previously I had been using XP which started off ok but just got slower and slower with all the bloatware and updates that gets produced these days. I find it impossible with Windows to clean out all the rubbish, there's always something that gets left behind and clogs up the arteries. My XP laptop at home used to be no trouble at all to use but now you have to turn it on the day before you want to use it. It reminds me of my childhood where radios used to take 20 seconds to warm up. I thought that was a long time.

Actually I prefer an automatic every time. I hate Windows with a vengeance but I have to use it. I don't hate Macs but I don't particularly like them. My Macbook can be switched off in 2 seconds. WHy the hell does Windows take so long to shut down? There is no reason for it.

I use both. Windows just gets slower and slower. Then you have to factor in all the endless updates and restarts and your productivity plummets. I have one to the conclusion that Windows needs a complete re-install every now and again.

I totally disagree. The camera often lies. What are we going to do? Have a telephone vote or every decision?

I don't know, but t wasn't the only technology that they tested, was it? Hawk Eye was developed at the old Plessey site at Roke Manor near Romsey.

It won't stop the debates.

Be prepared for endless calls from Sky asking if there's anything they can do to tempt you back. The bastards won't take no for an answer.

So your definition of a left-wing leader includes 'not starting a war or practising genocide'? -

I'll go for the one who's big in the Bristol region. And why are they all women? -
The ref was right. And you were right to flag. The linesman is best placed to say if a player is in an offside position, the referee to say if this player is interfering. FIFA keep[ mucking about with the definition of interfering which often goes against traditional thinking. That's why you had a flag but the referee had a whistle. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/worldfootball/clubfootball/01/37/04/27/interpretation_law11_en.pdf “interfering with an opponent” means preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent
