  1. Cotton wool doesn't stop bullets. HTH
  2. We were standing right behind the goal when that flew in. You couldn't tell if it was on target or not until the last second.
  3. Could have been worse. At least he didn't work in a beetroot factory.
  4. Indeed, but the situation now is that a number of players are receiving money as a result of their previous employment. Surely there must be a tax liability on these payments? If not, I can see an opportunity for avoiding tax in all sorts of situations where a company is not currently viable but is expecting to receive payments at some point in the future.
  5. Why are footballers always quoted as wages per week when almost everybody in the country is paid monthly?
  6. Not necessarily. You might just put your costs up so much that you are no longer commercially viable.
  7. Watching Villareal v Real Madrid. Bale has just equalised.
  8. Never a penalty. Very poor decision.
  9. She reminds me of:
  10. Hard to believe, I know, but Anni-Frid is nearly four years older than me. Agnetha though is almost a year younger.
  11. The other one: Latest news: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/9469403/Abba-singers-lover-becomes-a-viscount.html As an aside, my missus has the claim to fame that she saw Benny Andersson performing with the Hep Stars before he was famous when she did a school exchange to Sweden in 1965.
  12. So what?
  13. I had a Galaxy for my last update opportunity. It went back to the factory within a week because of problems with the power switch. My son has it now.
  14. We were there for three nights in February last year, staying in the Shangri-La hotel in The Rocks area, great room with a view of the bridge and opera house. We managed to fit in a day trip with http://www.bluediamondtours.net which included a visit to the Featherdale wildlife park, trip to the Blue Mountains and trip back on the Parramatta ferry. Ask for Alena. Bondi is easy by bus from Circular Quay, buy your tickets at a kiosk. We also did a couple of harbour tours. I would also have liked to have gone to Manly beach and perhaps have had a meal at Doyles http://www.doyles.com.au
  15. Just a though, perhaps someone can elaborate for me... What happens to the PAYE and NI payments for a players wages when they are delayed and spread over several years? Is the liability to HMRC down to the previous employer or to the new company?
  16. Anyone with high intelligence should have the good sense to keep quiet about it.
  17. So, you failed the entry test then?
  18. Still would? She lives on Helgö west of Stockholm: http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/agnetha-f-ltskogs-estate/view/?service=0
  19. The goat was very distressed. Even after three weeks he hadn't phoned, hadn't written, hadn't sent flowers...
  20. In case you're in any doubt, take a look at the present and past members if Mensa and decide if you would like to be part if that set. Clive Sinclair (I refuse to acknowledge his knighthood) was their chairman for 17 years. I rest my case.
  21. Ghosts.
  22. Nope, not in the same league. Some of them are even full of Welsh, Scots or even worse, northeners (Isles of Scilly please, the locals are very touchy and can get quite hostile )
  23. I knew a girl who was 'involved' with him when he played for us.
  24. Is royalty involved too?
  25. Please don't mention Brown, it upsets me and I have my blood pressure to consider. My theory is that he wanted to build a state where the majority depended on government handouts for their livelihood and would therefore vote Labour and keep him and his fellow incompetents in power. Every time he announced a big leap in public spending I held my head in despair. It was all supposed to be paid for out of future growth but why shouldn't the poor bloody workers get some of the benefits of this?
