  1. I don't think Gaston had hamstring problems, He had taken off his tie-ups and had his socks round his ankles just before he went off. He seemed to be massaging his shins and calf muscles. Let's hope it was just cramp. I felt it was a good shift from all concerned. Jos was a bit hoof-upfield at times but they all stuck to their allotted tasks. Gaston seemed to be really fired up, I don't think I've ever seen him so physical. I thought Cork did ok, just a couple of loose balls later on. The pace of Clyne and Shaw got us out of potential trouble a couple of times. Either side could have won with a bit more composure in front of goal. Never argue with a clean sheet, a solid defence is the only way that we are going to see this through. Shame we couldn't win though, we badly need to keep the points ticking up over the next few games. I'd be reasonably happy with beating Wigan.
  2. I'm speculating here but if we assume that he was initially employed on the express understanding that his job was to get us to the Premier League and that the club would then look for a replacement he would presumably have been on a basic package with a bonus for achieving the desired result. This bonus would have to have been higher if it were achieved within a short time or else he would have had an interest in dragging out the process for another season or two (some bright spark will probably say that he had a good go at doing this halfway through last season). This all comes down to money and 'how much?'. Was it a 'f**k you' amount or 'f**k the lot of you'
  3. Well it is Youtube What happened to his first goal, the instant equaliser? I always liked himfor his enthusiasm and effort. Seems like a lifetime ago now.
  4. I'm not waving mine. We have shared too many precious moments together for me to boil away all those happy memories.
  5. You get nothing for a pair.
  6. Spooky though. I once posted an opinion on here on some obscure subject then tried to google more info about it. One of the first results was my post from a few minutes earlier.
  7. All good players, but for vastly different reasons. I know who I would rather have watched, who got me out of my seat on more than one occasion, who had me open-mouthed at the sheer beauty, skill and audacity of his skills and it wasn't any of this list. I saw the famous 'great' Man Utd team of the sixties with Best, Law, Charlton and all those get comfortably beaten at White Hart Lane one Wednesday evening with barely a whimper in return. What has any of this to do with Cortese and his over-enlarged ego gland?
  8. Sounds familiar. Still, he's not been given much of a chance, I suppose.
  9. The weather's better than her but not fantastic. Mostly sunny with highs around 10 degrees.
  10. Er... two and a half years. I just want to set the record straight, like, just saying...
  11. My thoughts too. I would have to say that it's very unlikely that he has such knowledge. There again, he could just be an egotistical megalomaniac with no understanding of football at the upper levels.
  12. I wouldn't know. :-(. I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
  13. Yes, he doesn't understand the football culture in England.
  14. We've never had a problem before.
  15. B*ll*cks, now ill miss it. I hate bloody Premier League.
  16. Well we certainly can't afford another two months like the first two of this season.
  17. Not long enough to tell.
  18. Seems entirely reasonable to me.
  19. I think we are above, with signs of rising slightly higher.
  20. I make it 'little hand bag', it looks like the italian diminutive of 'pochette' which my dictionary translates as 'clutch bag'.
  21. Oh, all right, but it doesn't get you very far. Especially if you spend half of it on one player.
  22. It's incomprehensible.
  23. Leave out Ramirez and it's a lot closer. Norwich at least made wholesale changes after promotion.
  24. How much have they spent since being promoted?
