  1. It won't stop the debates.
  2. Be prepared for endless calls from Sky asking if there's anything they can do to tempt you back. The bastards won't take no for an answer.
  3. So your definition of a left-wing leader includes 'not starting a war or practising genocide'?
  4. I'll go for the one who's big in the Bristol region. And why are they all women?
  5. The ref was right. And you were right to flag. The linesman is best placed to say if a player is in an offside position, the referee to say if this player is interfering. FIFA keep[ mucking about with the definition of interfering which often goes against traditional thinking. That's why you had a flag but the referee had a whistle. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/worldfootball/clubfootball/01/37/04/27/interpretation_law11_en.pdf “interfering with an opponent” means preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent
  6. Did you quote the wrong post? It seemed like a fair comment to me.
  7. Yes, both of those but I also hated the Leeds team of Billy Bremer and others. Vicious bullies who used every underhand trick possible. Man Yoo for me.
  8. And it's by those commie bastards at the BBC
  9. Germany used its Marshall Aid money to rebuild its industry. We spent ours trying to uphold our world status. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/modern/marshall_01.shtml
  10. I changed from Sky to Virgin last year. The overall cost is about the same as Sky + Plusnet but I now have three TiVo boxes each of which can record three programmes at a time. I can now watch footy in the conservatory or the bedroom whilst the head of the household is watching Coronation Street in the lounge. The Virgin package also includes ESPN sports. The broadband speed is also a lot faster.
  11. Quite right, Lord D. Didn't Brian Clough have a similar principle at the City Ground?
  12. Effectively, players paid for by taxpayer's money.
  13. Yes, we saw that too. We were there Tuesday night -great show. All around us it was plastic pints, boxes of Belgian chocolates, bags of maltesers...
  14. Remind me not to shake hands with you. (I might not have washed mine either)
  15. In my experience the paper towels don't even last until kick-off.
  16. Meh, two offside goals and a fluke and they all creamed themselves.
  17. If it's an automatic you have to keep slipping it into neutral and only applying the power when necessary.
  18. It says he shot her four times in my newspaper. That's quite an accident.
  19. Meteorites can be quite valuable, even more so if they have hit something.
  20. 'At nearly a month since his arrival...'
  21. How could I have omitted to mention 'Life of Brian'?
  22. Some people can't go 45 minutes without a drink. It's not the most important thing I the world. If it is, you've got a problem.
  23. These house weren't demolished and are still being lived in. Any housing crisis is due to the huge rise in the population along with increased divorce and the expectation that the younger population have that they can move out of their parents' home and walk into accommodation.
  24. Most of them are posting on it.
  25. The term 'Spanish practices' could only be considered derogatory by someone who doesn't understand its meaning. It's like objecting to 'black sheep'. As it happened, they didn't protect the jobs because they eventually disappeared. Watch 'I'm all right, Jack' to see what British industry was like.
