We can't, you just have to enjoy seeing the players whilst we have them. Plus I wouldn't see why the club would want to break the cycle as it is sustainable from a financial point of view. You just have to hope we have more seasons like last year and a few of the top 6 perform badly and we can take advantage by having a paritularly good season. Or we hope someone massively wealthy wanting to spend endless money takes over the club - personally I don't want to just become another City. On the brghtsode it feels much better this time round in the Premier League as beforehand (in the main), no one wanted our players as they were crap.

So if you were Les Reed you would buy another player who could make a similar impact to Schneiderlin regardless of whether Schneiderlin leaves or not? Out of interest how much would you spend on this player? £15m? £20m? We are Saints, we can't just spend money willy nilly and have 2 1st team quality players per a position.

Okay so we replace Morgan and he doesn't go which although as you say is unlikely is still a possibility - then what? We've signed a player as a 1st teamer and he is behind Morgan and we have spent cash for no reason. Just as an aside, your posts come across as so defeatist and miserable.
