  1. Could AA have been practising (forging) signatures for the CVA document?
  2. Actually one Aussie test player that I have got time for. Warnie and Lee gave absolutely everything in that 2005 Ashes series and were the difference between England just about staggering over the victory line and dishing out a proper arse kicking. The pictures of Freddie consoling him at the Oval will last long in the memory of just about all cricket fans.

  4. A great player, who would have gone on to play for England, if it weren't for his back injury. Never had the same mobility afterwards. As a Saints fan, was immensely proud when he was PFA Young Player of the Year, the same year Keegan was Player of the Year. Last I heard he was a lorry driver in the Hull area, so good to know that he is working back in football these days.
  5. Anybody seen these play? http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/southamptonspitfires/
  6. Never hated a player that has pulled on the R&W shirt tbh. Quite a few I didn't particularly like and quite a few more I didn't rate but hate? No!
  7. There were several 'Lancaster and Crooks' stores in the Woolston area. One in Station Rd near Sholing Station (which included a post office and bakery IIRC), one In Victoria Rd, with a furniture/carpet store attached (became Co-op) and one in Obelisk Road, part of which became Ponts' furniture store.
  8. Question, which I don't know the answer to BTW! Is the U24 rule valid for a player that wasn't trained/brought up via the academy system? I thought it was introduced to compensate a club who had developed the player, however since Antonio was signed from non-League football, do Reading still qualify for this?
  9. Not enough fit players to fill the subs bench, not enough fit supporters to fill their away section. Avram will be having a fit, complaining to the PL that they have to go to all these far away places, a conspiracy to keep the best fans in the world ™ from being able to attend.
  10. Yes Nick they are but as I said before if that offer has not made by 1st January (6 months prior to the contract expiry), Antonio is free to negotiate a contract with any club he likes. He may well decide he is better off staying at Reading, after all but I would have thought he is likely to keep his options open until the summer.
  11. Unfortunately they were taken off after a couple of hours.
  12. More likely to go for Paul Lambert IMO.
  13. A good, good player who like some of the others, is not yet the finished article, will grow with the team and will be a decent player at Championship level and possibly higher.
  14. I was thinking the same, when reading this thread earlier. Dyer always flattered to deceive, fast but no end product. Whereas Antonio is fast (but not quite as fast) but has much more power and purpose about his game. He also plays for the team and not for himself.
  15. Arsenal infuriate the hell out of me, about 150 passes but no shots on goal.
  16. You see, I don't really see why everybody seems to have such a downer on Semi. Not technically the greatest player but certainly better at RB than any of the other options we have and his pace helps in attack as well as defence. As a team we have conceded 10 goals in the 14 games Semi has played (8 wins and 5 draws) and although his contribution to that is obviously not as great as Harding or Fonte's., still a pretty damned good record.
  17. Best we stay where we are then.
  18. Isn't many times in the recent past we've had any sort of positive goal difference.
  19. 2 for Saints. Several for Norway though!
  20. I think we're getting carried away here with a comparison to Benali and Lundekvam. Morgan is what? 20 years old? and has made 70-odd senior appearances. The others were seasoned pros, both with several hundred appearances behind them, when they eventually scored their first Saints goal. Morgan as a midfielder, should be scoring more goals but now he's got the monkey off his back, I fully expect him to go on and chip in with his fair share, from here on in.
  21. Correct! http://www.kcstadium.co.uk/kc-stadium/stadium-facts
  22. I think "Woolston Picture House" from memory although everybody called it the Bughutch!
  23. Just about to be on SSN if you have access.
