"Clubs like our's that are run properly, are paying the price for cheats and I don't like it!" Mmmm, we'll see Mr. Hearn!!
-
I do like that. Maybe when the extend St Mary's to 55,000 we could do something like that!

But ALL clubs live beyond their means. The big clubs do but the banks let them get away with it. Those with benefactors do but as long as said benefactor is happy to keep funding the club, much like ourselves, then they are okay. All of the others, even those with decent fan bases are propped up by overdrafts and the goodwill of local businessmen and the supporters. Once the banks call in the overdraft facility, the house of cards come crashing down. As has been said before. If you owe the banks a couple of million, you've got a problem. If you owe them tens of millions, like the big clubs do, the bank has the problem.

No I definitely wasn't celebrating. The positives for us were a bit facetious but meant tongue-in-cheek but I wouldn't wish them what we've been through. They have already had to send Friend back to Wolves (the guy who scored the FK against us) and things look pretty bleak. As others have said, they've hardly over spent or seem to be living outside their means (well no more than any of the lower division teams).

No I agree but a damn sight better than being wound up, which apparently was very very close.
-
Looks like they will be entering administration on Wednesday because of dire financial position. They were facing a winding up order from HMRC but now been changed to an administration order. Another minus 10 team in our division and we wont be the only ones in League 1A on Soccer AM any more! BTW they would go to the bottom of the league and we will be 4th bottom on the brink of the relegation safety zone.

No, we've been given ALL the East Stand. he 300 odd extras are not being sold because it is unallocated seating and needed as overflow. The East stand is usually a home section but fans are moved out for the 'big' games.

You're Sh!ttu and you know you are! Sorry, couldn't resist! Coat, Hat, Scarf, GONE!!

MacDougall wasn't a great player but he was a great goal-scorer. His record (throughout his career) doesn't lie. He could probably thank Phil Boyer for half of his goals though through assists. Phil was a great player and very underestimated IMO.

Wouldn't you just swap out the voucher for a ticket elsewhere in the ground and the club then release your seat for sale?
-
Wouldn't Toblerone be more appropriate?
-
Why Gobern? I reckon he'll be a very good player in a year or two.
-
Can't say I have. I can't understand why you can get a half decent pint at the Cricket but at the Football it's always cack!
-
Correct! Er I think?

I agree. I thought he was giving their LB a torrid time and was surprised when he was taken off. The LB would have been mighty relieved (that is until Antonio swept past him in the very next attack).

As NickG pointed out in a previous thread, you only have to better 7th place and they average about 69 over the same period (although he was counting on our goal difference being better due to making up -10 points deficit). I reckon 72 points will get 6th place and a play-off spot, still a very tough proposition but it is achievable (especially after 4 wins in a row, putting us ahead of the previous calculations).

Probably right but I think any player or manager who played for or managed the club for 300 games or more should be make honorary life members.
-
Thought he still had his "company" box? Leon and Lawrie one hasn't been there all season. As stated previously, being Eastleigh's main sponsor, means he spends a fair bit of time there now.
-
Thought I'd share this post from their "Moocamp" forum: Reading through the thread, they are almost as angry with the bullsh!t comments of the Assistant Manager, as they are with the performance.
-
Have you thought of emailing Carlisle United merchandising to see if they have any available?
-
You never know! Grimsby fans might be saying that about Olly Lancashire in a few weeks? Maybe not!!

He's been working for BBC as a reporter on the Football League Show. He did the voice over of Saints' game last night amongst many others.

OK I've amended it!

Can recommend the Bovril though!!
