Suppose they're not used to selling out the section.
-
They've now been given another 400 and will have some pay on the day. Should bring around 1200 I reckon.
-
Mandric has told SSN that Pearson is not in the running. He also said they're talking to Edgar Davids, with a view to signing him.
-
Strachan 1/5 favourite.
-
No they played a friendly last night against a team (as yet) unknown, instead.
-
Although there is merit in the 'don't change a winning side' philosophy, I think we should always be looking to add players to improve the squad. Whether it is bringing in a couple to add extra/better cover or those better than we have in the first team (or add more balance to it). We obviously still have to move some of the current squad on and the transfer window is a hindrance to doing so but if we want to get some ongoing momentum (all the way to the Premier League), we can not afford to rest on our laurels.

TBF, we nearly always take around 3k to London games, given the ticket allocation. Still there should be plenty of room in the home sections, so you should still be able to get in if you want to.
-
Yes, originally supposed to play Bristol City but their 1st team played last night, so it was postponed. Bizarrely, this info was on the ticket page. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1830751,00.html

I read that earlier and Lol'd but re-reading it he calls himself Winchester Don. Must be the only person in Winchester that knows bugger all about the Saints.
-
According to the FL stats this season, 1 in the league and 1 in the Carling Cup.
-
Murty didn't have the luxury of the Jaidi and Trotman partnership though, did he?
-
Er... James has played in every game.
-
For a thirty-odd year old fat bloke, I still reckon Murty is quicker (and a much better player) than James.
-
Funnily enough I was just thinking about that. I remember looking around at the people who had bothered to turn up and my heart sinking that so few actually seemed to care enough about the club. I honestly thought that that was the end.
-
No you're right. Nothing original, nothing current, nothing witty. In fact nothing much of value at all!
-
MS speaks decent English and has probably been paired with PW so that he can translate for him.
-
That was the lowest point at that time. Unfortunately (and in no small part, because of the above), it got much, much lower.
-
And going on their support this season, at least 2/5 of the attendance.
-
I'm not happy conceding any goal unless it's something like the Southend goal where you can hold your hands up and say fair play (even then, it was a stupid free-kick to give away). What I am saying is that it was a set-piece that has been worked on on the training pitch, it came off, Hammond lost his marker and buried the header. It is a goal that we have not looked like scoring for several seasons but a goal we HAVE been conceding with alarming regularity over the same period.
-
Wouldn't say the 1st goal was a gift. The marking may not have been great but it makes a pleasant change to score that sort of goal, rather than concede it. For as far, far too long, if we won a corner it was an easy clearance by the opposition defence, whereas if we conceded a corner, it was always panic stations and quite often a 'free' goal against.

Just seen Dan Petrescu on SSN now Urziceni manager, playing Rangers tonight in the Champions League.

Failing to get the points last season that meant that the 10 point penalty would be rolled over to this. I'm convinced that if we had started on level points, we would have got off to a much better start and would be in the top 4 now.
-
That's exactly the point. We are doing well, showing good form and looking like a decent team now but we are nearly a third of the way through the season and further away from the play-off places than when we started. An 11 point gap sounds nothing when written down on forum post but in 33 games it is a hell of a gap to close (bearing in mind it's not just one team we are aiming for, we have 17 other teams between us and that 6th position).
-
They have also in the main, played together a couple of seasons and been gradually improving. Play-offs last year, automatic this. I think due to our start and the -10, we will miss out of the play-offs this year but will gradually improve, add one or two in January, again over the summer and maybe a couple more next January. I fully expect us to emulate them next season and go up as champions.

I don't think they'll get him. I think he is in AP's long-term plans.
