  1. TBF, the moment they collectively decided that sack of shit would be a good leader was probably when they crossed the point of no return. He only managed to win a GE because of Brexit and because of Corbyn being unelectable. In any other (normal) circumstances he would have led his party to an embarrassing defeat at the polls and a term or two in opposition.
  2. OK but what about the one before that? (and the one before that etc...)
  3. Considering the utter chaos he has caused in Westminster over the last 7 years with his hubristic, ill thought out 'plan' to resolve an internal party division, he should be locked in the Tower of London rather than elevated to the House of Lords.
  4. So your whole argument here is that leaving the EU can't have had an undue impact on trade in goods with the EU because our trade in goods to non-EU countries is also down but by an even greater percentage. While the general gist of that may be true, do you really need me to explain to you why that isn't the massive Brexit win you seem to think it is?
  5. And even if they hadn't, we still would have gone down anyway. I remember going to our game at the Hawthorns that season (when we drew 0-0 after Prutton missed an open goal) and nearly getting frostbite in my toes 🥶
  6. Quite possibly, although not in relation to the current issue I would suppose. I imagine she must create a strange kind of cognitive dissonance in the minds of the knuckle dragging nationalists that she was so obviously trying to incite with her comments about yesterday's protest.
  7. Mad Nad on Laura K this morning (cos she has a book to promote), claiming that the criticism of Braverman is rooted solely in misogyny and sexism. Nothing to do with her being an unhinged, inflammatory charlatan who is unfit for high office then.
  8. Yeah they have had plenty of upheaval since the summer, but they weren't as shit as us to begin with though.
  9. Will be my first game of the season as it's only a short hop on the train for me. Never been to the ground, but I know the town quite well and there's plenty of decent pubs (and some really good local breweries) so it should be a good away day. Their current form isn't good. Only one goal and one point in their last 4 games (0-0 against Watford), so as long as we can find our shooting boots we should beat them. Having said that, it feels like a banana skin type of game for us, but I've been saying that for weeks now and the lads keep proving me wrong so I'm hoping that will continue.
  10. Our GA still looks very poor, it's true. But it's badly skewed because of the stupid amount we shipped in those first 8 games (19). If you look at our record since we lost to Boro at the end of September, we've only conceded 7 in total, managed 2 clean sheets, and the only team to score more than one against us was Preston. Of the teams above us, only Leicester have conceded less over the same period with 5, with Leeds shipping 9 and Ipswich 14 (albeit having played 1 more game).
  11. He's a CB. That's not his job 😉
  12. True, but then last time in 2011/12 we didn't have a handful of players who had already demonstrated (with us) that the PL is a step too far for them.
  13. Me too. Hopefully Stewart will give us the firepower to do that. Great to see him finally get some game time today.
  14. Good on him. I started to have some doubts when we were playing so badly during that 4 game run. His insistence that the players just needed to adapt to his system came across as a hollow excuse when he seemingly wasn't learning some obvious lessons. But his perseverance has paid off and there is really something about this team now. There's a real togetherness, confidence in each other and the system, and a "never give up" attitude which was so sorely lacking for the last couple of seasons. Most importantly of all, he's brought some smiles, belief and atmosphere back to SMS after years and years of dross and negativity (although I haven't actually been to a home game yet this season but it comes across very clearly on streams). Keep it up Russ. Sorry I doubted you.

Not going so well for him at Wednesday so far. After finally getting his first win against local rivals Rotherham last week, they lost 0-4 at home to Millwall today which, given how toothless they looked when we played them last week, is a terrible result.
  16. Phew! Don't know quite how we scraped that, but another scrappy win despite not playing well, against a team in really good form as well, is not to be sniffed at. Get in there! The good times are back at SMS at long fucking last!
  17. Obviously it was a rhetorical question 😉
  18. FFS why not play the advantage there?
  19. Slightly against the run of play but who cares! 🙂
  20. How's that not a booking for Mowatt?
  21. Well that's been coming.
  22. Ipswich 3-1 up now.
  23. Sounds like a decent atmosphere today.
  24. We already are one up 🫤
  25. Yeah he did really well there. Can't imagine Manning getting back and clearing up like that.
