2-2, reckon it's going to be a good game this one. Jos and Chaplow.
-
This is not the best team and it's unfair to even try and compare them with teams of the past when they haven't ever played in the top division. They can only beat what is put infront of them and at the moment they are doing this whilst also playing great football.
-
If we need short term direct cover for Rickie - and I believe we do - then BT could do a good job and he wouldn't break the bank. If we then ended up getting promoted we'd have to look for a more permanent replacement. Other than that I'd try and get Jos on board + take a serious look at a prem quality keeper. Kelv isn't getting any younger + a good GK is worth his weight in gold - just look at Green's performance for W.Ham yesterday.

Feel a bit sorry for the Cov fans, for 44 years now they have had literally nothing to get excited about - just a slow and painful decline. They spent 34 years in the top flight and apart from a cup win in 87 and a semi revival for a year or two after did diddly squat. Then they got relegated and instead of mounting a promotion push the have just spent 10 years more on their downward trajectory. I think if I was a Cov fan I'd quietly be hoping for relegation and admin just to shake my comatose club up. We've been to hell and back but at least it wasn't boring. Tedium is a club killer.

Come on Saints, just Putin an offer and let's get this deal done.
-
It may well be that if Lennon goes Celtic will be Stalin on making a deal......
-
I reckon a tub thumping, end to end, dodgy defending, thrills and spills 5-3 to Saints and a smile on the face of all who turn up.
-
That was liquid football.

Quietly confident about this one, Mowbray's teams like to play a bit which should suit us nicely. I think 2-0 or 2-1 ; Lambert + a midfielder to score our goals.
-
Superb point away to a very decent team IMO. I think I enjoy gutsy performances like that more than home canters against minnows as it really shows what the team are made of. Just over a week short of November and we're top by 3 points, would someone please pinch me.
-
This is going to be a tough one - If we get a point I'll be happy as Reading are going to there or thereabouts for a playoff place come season's end IMO. Was there last time we played at their place and a **** poor Saints team got a win so lets hope we can do the same again.
-
I'd certainly keep him on till the end of the season if possible and take it from there. He was probably low on confidence at Celtic but now he's at a club that he seems to be enjoying playing for his true potential is starting to show. If we could extend the deal till the end of the season and he keeps on progressing at the rate he is then he'd have to be seriously considered as a permanent signing come May.

It was a decent away point to a team that will probably beat a few of our rivals at their place. As long as we keep on winning the home games then I'm more than happy with picking up away draws to teams like Derby. Never thought we'd be top of the table come mid October, fingers crossed we can keep it up.

Here's a catergory for you 'Teams you've only seen away'

Been to a few old grounds but the only old\new comparison is Reading. I'd say the new stadium was much better but the location was terrible. Old - or old style - ground list is: Arsenal Reading Saints Man Unt (with the open section) Coventry Spurs old layout Chelsea (dog track layout) Bournemouth Norwich (old style away end) Colchester Overall whilst the new grounds are definitely more comfortable I do feel that it has been at the cost of atmosphere, the baby got thrown out with the bathwater IMO.

For me, Rickie jostles with Case, Killer, Deano and Niemi as one of our best signings of the last 30 years.
-
Not football but.......when egg chaser Wayne Shelford ripped his ball sack (leaving his testicle hanging out) during a NZ - France game he simply went over to the touch line and stitched up his scrotum. He also lost 4 teeth at the same time (probably didn't even notice). He then ran back on to the pitch to play the rest of the match (till he got knocked out in a head collision). Legendary stuff Link.

That's not good, with McClaren in charge they were hobbled but with someone decent they might just provide strong competition. How McClaren has managed to get the jobs he has amazes me, he is absolute pants.
-
I'd be more concerned about injuries to key players than the state of pitches esp Rickie who we don't really have a direct replacement for. Still, I guess the same applies to all our rivals too.
-
Decent away point to a dangerous team that probably has designs on a top 6 place themselves. Good to see MS get a goal too.

I want to win this league but I'm not in the slightest bit bothered about the prem. It's an uncompetitive, plastic, greedy, removed from reality, kick off at lord knows when, totally overhyped, lose most weekends, dysfunctional circus of a league. If Man U\C, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were to bugger off to a European league then the premm would become much more competitive but at the moment it's an annual procession. Where's the fun in that?
-
Arse away please, just a quick trip for me plus I'd like to see the Emirates. May even be able to nick it looking at the way they are playing at the moment.
-
How about just enjoying the ride and quit fretting over things that you have absolutely no control over.....

Amazing and we got those points playing Leeds, Barnsley, Ipswich, Millwall, Leicester, Forest and Birmingham - hardly mug teams & all of which (with the exception of Barnsley and poss Millwall) would have fancied their chances of top 6 at the start of the season. Deffo the best start we've had in my lifetime and fingers crossed we can keep the momentum going.
