  1. Good, being as we developed him we should profit from any future sell on IMO. If the big boys don't like it then tough.
  2. I want to win the champ but I'm not atall bothered about getting back to the prem. I think we're currently in the best league, the prem is a sterile wasteland.

  4. If true then £12M is a great piece of business. OXO for CMS + 3 others of similar calibre would put us in with a great shot of prem football IMO.
  5. Would be a great signing but I'm not holding out too much hope. Would have thought that if he was going anywhere it would be to a prem club.
  6. Somewhere between 6th and 9th.
  7. If he goes just make it quick so we can find replacements sooner rather than later. Just for once I'd like to see us hit the ground running next season. Of course I'd rather not see him go in the first place but if it is to happen then so be it. We'll survive.
  8. Some of the ppl on here have some strange views on NP. When a football club is down at the bottom having been on a negative trajectory all season it's tremendously difficult to get them back on track - yet Pearson managed it in a small spell of games. What he did was an incredible achievement and what did L**e do? That's right - give him the boot. Yet another terrible decision that caused the club to immolate itself.
  9. Man alive, that's tough on Hudders. Soooooooo glad we pipped them to 2nd as I'd have been extremely nervous myself facing CMS+Boyd this afternoon. Wonder what the CMS situation will be now?
  10. United were crushed like a tin can under the boot of Barcelona. Barcelona's defence never really looked troubled, probably because the ball was so rarely at their end. Barcelona's attack was permanently menacing, the fact that they only scored 3 was great credit to Ferdinand, Vidic and Van der Saar who I thought all had outstanding games. However it was the midfield where United were flattened like a pancake. The Barca dominance was almost total. How does anyone beat them?
  11. My thoughts too. As a fan the prem is an awful league unless you like seeing your team lose all the time. As a club it's £££££.
  12. Good player, just hope we can get enough games out of him. When fit he'd be in my 1st team.
  13. Funny I've read a few predictions that we're going to be amongst the contenders next season although I'm not convinced. Maybe it's the Norwich effect? For me it's an outside chance of playoffs at best as there's a lot of strong teams in this division. I think that Birmingham, Blackpool, Leicester, Swansea\Reading, Cardiff, Forest, Leeds, Burnley, Boro, possibly us and even possibly Brighton will be fancying their chances. I think W.Ham will find it difficult to adjust next season. Mid table IMO. TBH I'd be happy to stay in the champ for at least a couple of seasons, from a fans perspective I think it's the best division in the country. Prem is just a moneyed wasteland these days.
  14. 2005 by a long way. We were clueless, spineless and most unforgivably had given up long before the final knockout. Total disgrace. The teams at the bottom of the prem were like a load of punch drunk boxers desperately trying to cling to the ropes before the final bell. Unfortunately we couldn't even do that. By 2009 I was hardened to perpetual disappointment having witnessed: Almost a decade of L**e the clueless. Relegation from the prem. Saints 3 - Leeds 4 (when I realised that the rot had really set in). L**e removed. Temporary mirage of a revival followed by a play off defeat. Another season of disappointment. The return of L**e. Pearson sacked. The final bonkers Dutch appointment. Thank the lord we now have a competent owner.
  15. That will be hit too. Football has been trying to defy gravity since the credit crunch started but sooner or later fundamentals will kick in. Being as the vast majority of money goes on player salaries they are just going to have to take less. 'Value for money' or not, lots just can't afford it and those that can will probably start to feel the pinch at some future stage. We're not in a recession - we're actually in a new economic reality and it isn't going away anytime soon. Economic bounce? LOL.
  16. Me too. If we could squeeze in George Boyd I'd be an even happier chappy .
  17. Crikey - his Wikipedia entry is so bad it's comic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Pulis He's had a good run at football but its getting pretty obvious that it's time to have a rethink about his career. Whatever he does all the best of luck to the guy.
  18. Ah well, justice was done in the end.
  19. Although it would be incredibly harsh on Hudds I'd like to see B'mouth get through. Have we ever had 4 south coast teams together in the same league?
  20. I like Holmes and hope we can finally get him for a full season. It's been frustrating knowing that our best crosser is always on the treatment table. If no-one bids for him it's all academic anyway.
  21. Agree with this. He's a decent player but we already have Lambert and Barnard who can do his job, what we badly need is pace. If Posh don't go up then CMS please, he'd be dynamite in the champ.
  22. Its the best run I can remember and I've been following this club since the very early 80s. I think we had a great run at the end of 83/84 but it still wasn't as good as this one.
  23. On behalf of a good friend of mine who is a Walsall fan and was very happy that we won at Plymouth (funnily enough) I'd be happy with a draw.
  24. Sign a quality CB\CM\Striker, get our pre season right for once, continue our momentum and hit the ground running, aim for top 2. If we get 3 quality additions in these key areas I see no reason why we can't challenge right at the top. After all Norwich did it this season.
