I really wouldn't take it personally. Most on hear are grateful for snippets and quietly make up their own minds about what to believe and what not to. Some just can't help themselves having a dig at someone else. Don't let them put you of posting. I think the bit you have mentioned about said player having 2 kids will be defining!

I have and I do believe we did contribute to them not playing well. I also believe United are not performing particularly well either at the moment. I'm just trying to be level headed and not get carried away with the performance as we have been downright awful for the majority of the season. It was particularly pleasing to see the players genuinely working for one another and hopefully the manager.[ QUOTE=Matthew Le God;2569822]Have you considered they didn't play well cos Saints prevented them from playing well?

Lets no get carried away by yesterdays result. I will enjoy the fact we went to Old Trafford and came away with a very well earned point. The whole team put in a shift and I thought the defence were determined to shut out United. As well as we played I don't think United were great and appear to be having one of those patches...but we did very well. Now being a keeper myself I am delighted for Alex and am sure a clean sheet at Old Trafford will do his confidence the power of good. I don't mind admitting I was genuinely worried when I saw his name on the team sheet as I have been watching Alex this season and he like Forster has made some howlers and has not looked like an upgrade. He didn't have anything special to do yesterday but he did what we all expect of a goalkeeper and he did it well....confidence for a keeper is such a massive thing and hopefully this will do his wonders. I haven't given up on Forster. There is a very good goalkeeper there but his confidence is clearly shot to pieces and taking him out of the firing line was a good call and a very brave one from MP.

Can't say I know anything about the player but looking at those comments the French fans think we are idiots paying that sort of money for him IF there is any truth to this!
-
I would snap your hand off right now for 17th because i honestly believe we are going down. This manager is not going to be replaced, the team are not playing for him and have no confidence and we will struggle to attract very decent players as they will see relegation staring them in the face.......17th, yes please!!!!

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
BARCELONASAINT replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
You are probably right and i have forgotten past sickening transfers.....were any of them as damaging to the club as this VVD saga with Liverpool has been?? Hopefully SFC will show they have quietly been planning for this day for months and will unearth our new fantastic signings as soon as the transfer window opens....i won't hold my breath! -
Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
BARCELONASAINT replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I am 100% in total agreement. I feel betrayed by our club, it sickens me we have let both VVD and Liverpool get their own way. The whole fiasco may well end up with us being relegated and what good then will Liverpools $75 do when it's spent on inferior players and a large chunk of it disappears into the owners bank account.Honesty and integrity are the two things i live by and SFC have shown none. Maybe it's an age thing but after over 45 years of supporting Saints i feel almost done with the club. -
stopped watching at half time and i can't blame the travelling fans for booing our own. They have paid alot of money to follow this dross, they are entitled to boo. The only straw i'm grasping is that this will be MP's last game!

I cannot see anything but an embarrassing defeat today. I don't think our players have the stomach for a fight and MP is absolutely clueless. There is no doubt that the majority of Saints fans are completely demoralised by the last 12 months and relegation is becoming a real possibility. I am fed up to my back teeth with the turgid performances BUT the straw that will break the camels back for me will be the sale of VVD to Liverpool...if that is what happens. Any other team i can accept but not Liverpool as the impact the VVD illegal approach has without doubt had a major impact on the players and the club as a whole. The whole saga has been like a cancer slowly spreading throughout our club. If we sell to Liverpool the way i am feeling at the moment then i feel i will turn my back on Saints and do something else on Saturdays.

Totally this in bucket loads!!!

Austin is a complete moron...he will almost certainly get a retrospective ban for that assault on their keeper. It wasn't even cleverly disguised. Ref got no help from his linesman otherwise Charlie would already be off. What the hell was he thinking!
-
In all honesty i'm struggling to think of anyone that fits the being realistic list at the moment. I don't think we are as attractive a club as we were 18 months ago....I still don't know what our Chinese owners have brought to the table and i'm sure that potentially puts of many managers out there (or do managers we have spoken to know there is no big transfer kitty and it is a case of sell before you buy. If that is the case we will struggle to attract any real names and will always be bargain basement shopping Ala our current manager!) If we sack MP anytime soon then i will be genuinely surprised and genuinely fearful of who we might get into replace him.....and it's not because i rate MP because i don't.

I really don't understand this love fest with Brendan Rodgers. You say it yourself....any muppet could win the Scottish league with Celtic...it's a **** poor league. I totally despise Rodgers and his past remarks after raiding our club of talent (tapping them up) makes him a definite NO!
-
I will enjoy today's performance and victory and the return of exciting attacking football and worry tomorrow if we have really turned a corner. Without wanting to put a downer on things, that was one of the worst visiting Premiership sides i have seen for a very long time and anything other than a comfortable win would have been criminal.
-
I watched him towards the end of his time with Celtic and he is exactly the same player now as he was then when he knew his future was elsewhere. He really just went through the motions towards the end of his time with Celtic and he's doing exactly the same now. I hate feeling so negative about a Saints player but i have to say there are 3/4 players in the current squad that i wish was just **** off!
-
Although Everton are woeful at present it just seem we are even worse and i just can not see a win for us. You need to score goals to win games and you have to be able to keep clean sheets....neither of which we are capable of at the moment. 0-2 Everton and Pellegrino out the door by middle of next week.
-
going by the poll results for the managers head to roll i would have thought 90% of this board would be in favour of this idea and making your voices heard. Personally i think doing what Guan suggests is better than doing bugger all and sitting there with your thumbs up your arse. If MP does not go and go quick we are relegation fodder!

Gao 'open to offers for Gabbiadini, Long and Austin'
BARCELONASAINT replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
I cannot believe for one moment our new owners have come out and said we are looking to sell anyone....at best someone in the family has been heard to say in conversation that we are not scoring goals and something has to change....suddenly sensational paper headlines all the strikers are up for sale....complete b*l***ks! -
Personally i think he will still be around for the home game against Everton and then sacked mid week after that game when we lose to them. It has been the most horrible last 11 months of football with the most inept managerial appointments. It really does beggar belief that this guy is still in charge when it is so clear the players are not playing for him. For gods sake put us all out of our misery and get rid NOW!!
-
I'm really sorry to say it but at the moment i think we will go down. I honestly don't think many of our better players care...VVD wants to leave, Bertrand wants to leave, Tadic is disinterested, Redmond looks like he couldn't care less, Austin looks ****ed off. They would all be gone if we go down, so maybe it would suit them and even guarantee them a move to another Premiership club. Add to the list the players we couldn't keep hold off even if they were happy to stay and most of our starting 11 would be gone. Swansea and Palace to join us or maybe WBA
-
If we even consider Fat Sam, Bent Rednapp and a couple of others people have mentioned i'm done. We have made two awful consecutive appointments, lets not make a third by hiring a dinosaur. I didn't even know who we were playing yesterday i have been that disinterested because of the absolute crap football we have dished up since January. I just don't understand how our board have been conned by this guy who told them attractive attacking football is what he would bring to us. Did anyone from our board actually watch La Liga last season? His team were never exciting, they ground out results by playing "safe" football and had a season that bucked the trend. I was very underwhelmed when we appointed him and my fears have shown to be reality. I don't advocate sacking managers but this guy really has to go and go NOW!
-
This only backs up my falling out of love with the game at this level and hardly showing an interest this season. Too many young footballers now are only interested in the massive pay day and not interested in actually playing football....if that is what they want good luck to them but it is killing the game.

I fully expect Boufal to be on the bench against Brighton....I would not agree with this decision because having grown up with the privilege of watching MLT every week i believe we potentially have another genius on our hands if the manager has the balls to play him. MLT was a luxury player that some weeks you found so frustrating because nothing he tried came off and he was not the hardest working of players but when it clicked oh my god the lad was a genius. Alan Ball had it right when he managed us and you could here him shouting "give it to Matt, give it to Matt" He knew the lad could in a flash turn a game on it's head. In Boufal i think we have another luxury type player who has the ability to turn games on there head and will occasionally frustrate. The manager needs to grow a pair and give him a run.
