Southampton v Huddersfield: Postponed
forever a red and white replied to saint peach's topic in The Saints
feck, the only good things is the players look drained on saturday. But will probably be back at uni by the time the re-arranged match is on which makes life difficult -
just got ticket and travel for this one along with millwall, can't wait now!
-
he was okay today, he made some key tackles and really got stuck in. TBF it was very low performance from the whole team and fatigue certainly seemed to be a factor that affected everyone.
-
one suggestion. But a little customers services desk in megastore, could heard numerous people today fighting way through q's wandering where to deal with exchanges and refunds on xmas presents. Might be a little bit helpful.
-
agreed. He is a nuisance the sort of player you don't want to face. Very good for this level.

James has actually been a very productive player for saints this season. By reckoning he is 2nd or 1st for assits in the squad. Although his natural position is MF, e doesn;t provide enough creativity. This may seem conflicting but out wide he provides a beautiful delivery, but he doesn;t have that killer pass, e.g. through balls, ignoring Waigos JPT goal v Norwich. He and Hammond as a parntership work hard, but don;t produce enough

Colchester 2-1 Saints. Post match chat.
forever a red and white replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
disapointed but not supirsed. Would have taken a draw before KO. Colchester have drastically improved under Boothroyd and recent form not results has suggested a result like this. They are good team and to expect us to win everything game is naieve. Players were probably tired amd things will be back on track shortly. -
the squad is new give it time.
-
patience is a must, the plan was promotion in two seasons, this season is a complete lottery, in all honesty the squad would need drastically improvnig if we went up. Do what we can this season, summer consolidate, improve the squad and prepare for the bigger challenge next season.

Should we rest all the key players in the FAC?
forever a red and white replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
We need to give some players a game, becasue if key players do get injured we are going to have layers coming in who lack match sharpness. Use the F.A Cup to try something different. I know winning breeds confidence but our performances have suffered of late despite wins, and tiredness is not helping. Morgan keeps picking up knocks as well. -
Colchester 1 v 0 Saints. 1st Half Chat.
forever a red and white replied to Son of Bob's topic in The Saints
not an awful lot happening atm, attacks at both end but both petering out. No real chances yet -
also would like to add, that sometime you don;t realsie the importance or value of a player until they are not there. That was certainly the case against Leeds, ourpassing was poor and we lacked creativity, something that Morgan provides. We are a better team with him and for a young player, who is still learning his trade, he takes far too much criticism.

so then you could argue why does Lambert get hype because he csores goals, like strikers should do?
-
yet after three games everyone suggetsed we should fork out £500k for his services permantley
-
a clean sheet would also be very handy to keep our healthy goal difference

for me the best: Home, Norwich 4-3, beating Pompey 2-1 in the cup and possibly 4-3 win over brum Away: Derby and Reading last season Worst: Home: Leeds, Away: Pompey away losing, and for some Watford in the cup losing 5-2 or whatever it was

O'Hallroan, the lad from Villa who played about 20 mins looked alright. Bennett looked much better after he settled in. ] The last ten years not the last three

There was an article in this month's issue in football magazine, 'When Saturday Comes' (WSC). First time I bought this magazine and have been impressed so far. They featured our game vs Brighton as game of the month but also discuss the move from the Dell to St. Maary's and talk about the atmposphere and tradtion. This gotr me thinking, how we as the fans and the club could try and make our stadium and little bit more unique, make it more special and make it feel like home again...? One idea, is in the Itchen/Northam corner, where last year we had the Draper Tools triangler banner we could have one with a montage of Saints greatest players or moments, rather than empty seats. Well worth a read, pick up a copy.

Can you go 2 hours without food or drink?
forever a red and white replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
its up to other people and some have to leave early. Each to their own. But Tuesday for exmaple really annoyed me. Many people lost patience, left early and probably would have booed and complained had we lost 2-1. They leave then here us score and run back up and celebrate, that was annoying, if its one goal in it and every chance of a goal why wouldn't you stay. But then who ever said fans were fickle.
