Perhaps if he had a big red cross across it, it might be more appropriate

Spent £220m buying 80% of SFC - £50m = £170m now to recoup. If we stay in the Prem' trying to survive on a shoe string, the winnings will likely mean that the £170m will recouped in around 4-5 years. Good business, if we can stay up. Crap for us fans. But he is a businessman so why should he give flying **** about us.

Also don't forget the media. If a ref makes a mistake against Saints there will be a few comments in the next days papers etc and the big clubs and their fan will see it as winging Saints (or which ever smaller club involved). Where if the mistake is against one of the big clubs media and their managers will go on about it constantly in the media. So decisions are likely to go against the smaller clubs because there will be less criticism in the media.

The annual "Would you take Adkins back" thread?
the colonel replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
No. It was the right for and the Saints 2010-2013. Great memories. It would be a shame to have back and fail. The club leadership is different from when he was here, how and by how much only time will tell. -
What Is The Most Amazing Place In The World That You Have Been Too
the colonel replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
portsmouth...... proving Neanderthal man isn't extinct. What was the question? -
Video does work. Good idea. If my memory is correct i seem to remember that a station has always been on the cards if we want to expand, this isn't a discussion on whether we need tor can. So why wait I live near London Bridge so if I could get a train down to the ground it would make so much difference, especially midweek. i'm not on facebook so can't reply on there. But I think others should.

I'm a season ticket holder and been to less games this season than any previous year due to the constant rearranging of games. I live and work in central London making mid-week games is always an issue whether I can get away in time and get there for kick off. We have only had 5 home games so far in 2018 and I have only been able to get to one of them. The quality of football doesn't help matter. Obviously we all know of the poor Saints performances but I think that goes across the board in this league. The first few weeks of the season the football was dreadful no matter who was playing and I stopped watching Sky and BT for a couple of week. Then City start to play top quality stuff out performing everyone. But there hasn't been that much quality throughout this season. There is no difference between the sides in the bottom dozen or so teams. Clubs are having to paid 10s of millions for average players who then seam to think they are world glass because they are being past around for extortionate fees and salaries. Most of these players would have struggled to be worth a couple of million a couple of years ago. Look at West Ham they have well reported problems then when there is an international break, are they call in for extra training...no...they are swanning around on Miami Beach. The clubs are powerless to stop this kind of thing as the players will just leave if the are not spoilt in this way. I'm sure we could all write an essay on what is wrong with modern football. The trouble is, for example, I loved it in the lower leagues and going to clubs that I'd not been to before and having good banter with clubs and many away days were fun. But the trouble is I still want us to be playing the best and that unfortunately means the Premier League (well some of it). As Adrian Lord says above 'The Premier League bubble is bursting in slow motion'. I agree. But having said that they don't care to much about bums on seats as long as they can sell the football rights to us here and more importantly (to the premier league and Sky) the mass markets of the far east, middle east and USA (ie Utd and scousers playing again in the USA this coming summer).

why do people start shiiitttte like this?!?!

Can we have a poll as to whether we sound have another poll?

I don't pretend to be ITK, as I'm not. Just speaking 3rd hand, a friend that works in the club tells me that everything behind the scenes is top class and built for regular qualification for Europe.........where we are failing is on the pitch and that comes down to one person responsible for the ins and outs of the players and manager. Whether the owners see it that who knows?....or apparently not.

Do we really need another thread like this?!?! Pathetic!!!!#As Plumstead support the team.

Could it be that after Mr Gao undertaking due diligence on the club and then buying his 80%, he is now going through every aspect of the club before speaking of his plans. Could it be he is trying to walk before he runs. If i had invest £220m in a football club I would be looking at it in depth before making claims of plans that are unachievable. Mr. Gao does not appear to be someone that has purchased a premier league club just so he can shout and boast about it. So has he bought it to make money? Having spent £220M there is no guarantee that he will get his money back very quickly. If he asset strips and we get relegated. It may be just about possible to get his money back from the league position money, TV, parachute payments and selling the club. But that will not be particularly easy to make a profit. Who would want to buy us, other than at a knock down price. Bills and taxes still have to be paid. So if Mr Gao isn't here to shout about it or make a 'quick buck', then why is he here? Could it be he is formatting a long term sustainable business plan whether that be on similar lines to the existing model of selling best players at top dollar or something entirely new, whether that includes the existing board or an entirely new one (including the other 20% owner KL). Lets hope in the meantime we can survive this season and we start to hear what is in store for us as Saints fans.

Would these signings improve the squad and give it some 'balls'? Sturridge (28yrs) total 48 goals in 98 appearances for Liverpool. 17-18 league 9 appearances 3 goals 16-17 league 20 appearances 3 goals Walcott (28yrs) total 65 goals in 265 appearances for Arsenal 17-18 League 4 appearance 0 goals 16-17 League 28 appearances 10 goals Both proven goal scorers both out of favour. Our league stats (I don't have the figures) have Saints up there with the top half of the league for creating chances but at the bottom for goal conversion. Would both be keen to get their careers going again and be big assets or both looking for pay day contracts to see out the last 5 years of their careers? Or will neither suit the formation we are playing? For me, get them in they both are better than anything we currently have.

No coincidence how many played for Skates when they were cheating local businesses and the taxman out of millions.

Well deserved to a consummate professional. Whether you agree with the honours system or not, he should still be congratulated on this achievement that so few other deserving Saints players have gained. Congratulations Steven Davis.
-
me too...... If saints win that game we get 2 extra points and we stay up on goal difference. WBA go down. Having said that the years from -10 in League 1 to back up to the premier league and of course Marcus I wouldn't miss for the world.
-
just to correct you. it was only 1-0 11 v 11. the first penalty came after Arnautovic (33mins) was sent off. 2-0 at 38mins.
