Interesting topic. I'm also a referee and it takes a lot for me to actually give a handball. Unless they have obviously tried to handle it, I only give a free-kick if it strikes the arm when the arm is a considerable distance away from the body. If it's down by the side or against the chest there's no way I would give it. If it is kicked at the arm, but the arm is out to the side, where there is no need for it to be, I consider it handball. Commentators really annoy me too, with their complete lack of knowledge on the laws of the game. They seem to find it "harsh" if a red card is given along with a penalty, it's an 'obvious goal-scoring opportunity' you tit. One that most players seem clueless on is goal kicks; You CANNOT be offside.

At the end of the day the ref has done the right thing, it's against the laws of the game. But the AZ players also did the right thing, by leaving the pitch.

He's realised it's not really going to happen in the Prem that quickly and that Cortese isn't going to sell him for nothing. I would definitely give him another chance. He's a skillful winger with a bit of pace and he's already on our books. Why not?

Used to park in the industrial area the other side of Northam Bridge, but that seems to have been blocked off on matchdays recently. Do anybody know of somewhere which is free (or only costs a couple of pound) and provides similarly easy access towards Hedge End? Cheers

When was the last time we were top at Christmas? Go.

First half was a non-starter, as we created absolutely nothing. The Skates rarely threatened in the opening exchanges, but more so than us. Second half we were by far and away the better team, but both defences had very good days and two mistakes saw the goals. I feel had De Ridder come on for Guly in the last 15-20 minutes then we might have nicked it with that extra energy on the counter. Some notable performances from all of the back line, added to Hammond, Cork, Lallana and Lambert. Overall not a bad result on the face of the league, considering the respective home/away forms. A good run over Xmas please.

A slick process (on the day) by the police/stewards. Being on the bus was a bit of a laugh, especially when rolling through Pompey. It worked excellently in terms of keeping the sets of fans apart before and after, just a shame that it makes you feel like a criminal, being constantly surrounded by police. Not to mention the amount of cameras that filmed us.

I can imagine not getting behind him would cross anybody's mind. Singing his name would probably only add to the pressure in his head. Hardly the easiest name to fit into a song, either. He'll probably have the game of his life.

Hahaha, if you're able to look past the terrible grammar most comments are laughable. Apparently the FA have told referees to send off players at St. Mary's to help us out. Isn't that kind?

Best thing to happen would be to get a replacement keeper in on loan until the end of the season and let Bart go out and play regular football in leagues 1/2. He's only 24 and the talent is there, but the experience is seriously lacking.

Would love to see them at games but you just know the stewards would pile in and find who had let them off. Unlike when United played here back in January and they lit one, while the stewards looked on and did nothing. They'll do what they want.

Just watched it on Saints Player and I thought that was Adkins' best interview to date. Very honest, so tactically aware and clearly knew the importance of the derby.

Cork had a good game, but Guly was fantastic from start to finish.

Bart definitely needs more game time. He's a very good keeper and I imagine in training he shows that, but training doesn't prepare you for a match situation. Ideally he could go out on loan, but he's in a situation where going on loan and playing more games aren't really viable options.

Kelvin need sot be back next week. SDR took too heavy a touch, but he is a good impact player. Guly was fantastic.
