Yep, easy as that. When did we last beat a top prem side? When did we last win a prem game? When did we last look like we could win a prem game? Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

I'm not that worried about the other results as I believe we are already down. There are some absolutely woeful teams in this league this year, but unfortunately we are just as bad as them, and there is no way we are about to turn that around with the games we have remaining. We have never, ever, looked like putting some results together this season. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Stevy, have you been to any games this season? Serious question, I've been to quite a few and I've never felt that we have any fight or grit at all. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

I think the key to the game will be how long we can stop them scoring. Stay tight and frustrate them well into the second half and we have a slim chance of nicking something. If they score early doors our confidence will seep through our boots and we have no chance of recovery. I think this is last chance saloon in order to get any confidence back into the players, blow this and we're down without a fight. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

A player of my era, great entertainer. I believe he got the nickname Crafty Cockney due to his ability to finish using unusual combinations. So he probably checked out seven, triple seven, double sixteen. One of the pioneers of getting darts to a mainstream audience, without the likes of Eric Bristow darts could well have failed as a televised sport. Another gone far too soon, RIP. Seemed a really nice guy whenever I listened to him. Great footballer - gone far too soon, sadly missed. RIP.

Surely you can come up with one of your highly respected opinions? I'm shocked.

2005 relegated on the last day of the season at SMS after taking the lead against Man Utd. 2018 relegated on the last day of the season at SMS after taking the lead against Man City. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Agree, we won't be back for some time, so I'm erring on the 'go' side, even though I fear a quite embarrassing defeat. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

They're playing well, right now they'd probably turn us over, half of our lot probably wouldn't understand the significance of the game. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Heard it all before. Less talk, more action. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Frightening isn't it. I was at the Burnley game at SMS this season and knew exactly what was going to happen as the game wore on. But I actually felt sorry for their fans having to watch that every week. One of the worst (most boring and negative) sides I have watched all season without a doubt. What's the problem, we can get rid of Hughes and get Pardew in tomorrow. This is the new modern way.... Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Yep, anybody other than Reed would've told them all to stay, and they would still be here. Every single one. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

That would've taken vision, foresight and good negotiation skills. I doubt it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Would you encourage a grand-child still to be a Saints fan
Micky replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I go with my 14 year old son and I do feel somehow responsible for putting him through it. But he is more upbeat than me about the situation. He hasn't accepted relegation yet though, so it will be interesting to see how he copes, but essentially he is still looking forward to going to games no matter what happens. He's only been getting into football over the last couple of years, and initially it was Liverpool that he wanted to support. But of course after his firsts trip to SMS that changed and he hasn't looked back. Perhaps it should be the kids looking after the adults in times like this. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk -
Good post. I have been very much of the same opinion with regard to LR, fans don't know the intricacies of deals that happen within the club. I was supportive of the stance that the club took with VvD at the time, however, with hindsight that was obviously the wrong decision. But fundamental mistakes have been made this year that will see us relegated, and LR takes much of the responsibility for that. Player recruitment has been particularly poor and our replacements have been largely been downgrades on what we had. Pelligrino should have gone much earlier in the season and a proper replacement lined up. I'm not blaming Hughes for any of this mess, but he is not the manager to sort this out, purely a half capable stop gap. For me, we are a club that has lost its spine on the pitch and off the pitch. On the pitch a, dropped first team goalkeeper, poor centre backs, overworked defensive midfielders and a club record signing that had never looked like scoring. Off the pitch, an owner who is almost invisible, a mouthpiece of a chairman and then LR. Far too many failings, and therefore time for both LR and RK to step aside. I think you've answered your own question there. The players will get new contracts at different clubs, we will offload any and all quality and keep what little we can afford. Hughes commented on the amount of talent that he had inherited when he took over, and that is true, unfortunately that talent has no fight, guts or balls. Players do just give up when a club goes bad, you see it with at least one relegated club nearly every year, and right now we are bad to the core. I would be amazed if we got anywhere near to surviving this year, the players are going through the motions, but irrespective of any club hype, they're gone. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
