Thanks, being nearly sixty, such terms can be confusing, no bad thing when you are being insulted though. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

I think Les had done a great job over the last five or six years. What's a 'mouth breather'? Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

It never has been our boards fault, they are managing a very difficult situation very well. Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk

As somebody with no idea what betting odds mean - is that good or bad...???

Unsurprising really - it was always likely to be the outcome of this whole sorry affair. The surprising outcome would've been if VvD was still with us at the start of the season - so I was expecting this result. Having said that, I don't understand the need for any player to have a contract of employment, they had just as well all be free agents and tout themselves whenever they want. The contract is no security for the club, so what's the point. VvD has essentially gone and applied for another job, while under contract, got the job and then pretty much refused to do his job until he is allowed to leave. It appears that he has broken no rules, and if he has, nobody is particularly bothered, so why the contract. Unlike others, I don't blame Les / the board - the player and others from another club have acted like complete cvnts and contrived the move. Les has just got to try to clean up the mess and get the best possible outcome for the club - it's a difficult position for him. VvD and Liverpool though - really, horrible, smelly piece of business - the worst.
-
That's all very true and I doubt many on here will counter it. The issue here is primarily about how he / his advisers are going about engineering the move, who he wants to move to, and how they have approached him before the club. There is a right way to get a transfer and there is a wrong way.
-
Exactly, that coupled with the fact that Liverpool's last official stance was that they had 'ended all interest in the player'. It's not pretty, but as I see it, we hold all the card's - nobody has yet put in an official bid for him. Personally, I hope that somebody from the Premier League is monitoring this situation quite closely, because at the end of the day if he ends up a Liverpool, it paves the way for under contract players to just deal freely with other clubs, organise their own transfers and then strike if the holding club refuse to co-operate.
-
Brilliant - that wound a few bin dippers up. But, when you actually consider what he's said - it's pretty much spot on really. Liverpool are a club who are pointing at passed glories and actually haven't won too much recently. VvD could do an awful lot better, so the article was correct really.

So how does that work, Liverpool have done nothing, and neither has the player in terms of putting in a transfer request. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

This. The word 'invest' is overused and largely misunderstood by a lot of people. Think of it from your point of view - if you invest, what do you want back? In short, all investors want more out than they originally put in. Not many clubs have owner who are willing (or able for that matter) to bank roll them, they have to balance the books. We are lucking in that we have found prudent and competent owners who run and manage the club properly.

Totally agree, and from his point of view they have to be his best options of winning stuff. Don't get at all why so keen to go to Liverpool. Perhaps they don't rate him at 70 and think they can get him cheaper, are we willing to lower our sights...? Who knows? Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Very fair and very balanced - about the way I see it.

Are you sure, I'm constantly reminded by people on here that Kat's pockets are bulging, that's Les's brief - get me more money to stuff into my already bulging pockets - stuff the club.

Excellent, I'm completely pacified now. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Very true, we may be ****ed that they keep taking our top players, but it hasn't really been that successful for them, we came closer to wining something than them last season. I hope they have an absolute shocker of a season this year as well. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Heard that as well. Coutinho just flashed in another cracking goal, really hope they loose him. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Yep, all true, but this is more about how this move has played out. Tapping up, illegal meetings, 5 year contract, no transfer request, sulking. I couldn't give a flying duck if he gets sold, but there is a right way to do business and a wrong way. We effectively are now being bullied into selling our player because of another club's illegal approach. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
