And so that is your considered response is it? The (quite simple) point that I made (amongst many that you just failed to respond to), was that arms control here in the UK is light years ahead of America, and yet you cannot even understand that. Indeed, it would appear that one of us is mentally challenged, but I'm comfortable in the knowledge that it is not me. People are trying to engage you seriously, yet you seem incapable of composing any sort of rational reply when facts are put to you. Do you honestly think that there was something so consequential omitted from the 'cap video' that would've been grounds for 3 policemen to shoot the gentleman 8 times? And do you not also think that if this were indeed the case, that the police would be keen to show this in the video in order to justify their action? Mentally challenged, an accusation you throw around at others, as CB Fry would say, rational debate, try it sometime instead of your flippant, immature diatribe. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

Oh boy, oh boy, indeed. #1 – At no point have I ever said that the police should not be armed. In fact I am in favour of arming police, and, as has been pointed out by others, this does occur here in the UK. However, arming police is not simply a case of giving them a gun. Police officers are routinely trained in the use of self-defence techniques, issued batons, pepper sprays and Tasers. Do you not agree that perhaps the gentleman who removed his cap could have been dealt with using a little less than lethal force? Honestly. #2 – I take it from your comment then, is that you believe that anybody who lives in the ‘inner city’ is fair game. They are all criminals who deserve a much more robust and draconian level of policing to those people who live in the suburbs or rural areas. It might surprise you to know that here in Southampton we also have ‘inner city’ areas; in fact they have them in pretty much every major city in the world. Living in an inner city area / rough area or any other area that suffers from social deprivation does not give the police the right to routinely execute law abiding citizens. He removed his cap. #3 – And to repeat myself also, there is a problem in lots of inner city neighbourhoods throughout the world (ever been to Glasgow?), but that does not allow other police forces carte blanche to act as judge jury and executioner. #4 – I think it’s time you stopped the childish – ‘you don’t know nothing’ line. We are well aware that America is not like the UK – it is the very point that we are trying to get you to understand. The UK has strict gun laws and legislation that restrict the ownership, issue and use of arms and ammunition in order to have a controlled firearms system. Very few people in the UK will ever have actually come into direct contact with a firearm in their life. In contrast, America has a culture and fascination about guns, where it is routinely accepted to both own and use them – we (the UK and America) are polar opposites in our principles with regard to weapons. As you so eloquently keep pointing out ‘us Brits don’t know nothing’, but what I do know is that our stance on gun control is light years ahead of Americas. Even the President has recently pointed to the fact America needs to consider reforms – perhaps he is asking himself, ‘What is Wrong with America?’ You think.

Bringing it back on topic, if you do get out of the car, don't go stealing bikes..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-33545655 ....ohh, they didn't steal the bikes.....! How many times did the officers shoot this highly dangerous robber, err citizen? Feel free to justify, the use of guns, policing policy or whatever else you can drum up, but would you not at least concede that America has a problem?

This. Apart from the parenthetical thought, because I don't know what parenthetical means. We are a mid table club, we flew higher last year and gave a few a fright. Wholly expect us to finish lower in the league this season, but don't think at all that the Board or Management should be lambasted for that.

What planet are you on...???

Sarnia, they are not laughing with you mate, they are laughing at......... Ahhhhh forget it, it's probably a step too far for you to understand anyway.

What Gemmel said. Some of you are very, very sad individuals. Morgan has been quality, he deserves a move to a top club, I wish him nothing but success.

Debate - you appear not to know the meaning of the word. You have totally ignored most of the facts, opinions and replies that people have taken the time present to you, in favour of pathetic childish retorts. The fact that you are supposedly a 60 year old person gives a somewhat worrying perspective to the thread to be quite honest. People have contributed in good faith, giving reasoned opinion, citing events and quotes from people that have happened as the thread has unfolded and are consistent with the original question. In the main you have ignored them or made idiotic, unreasoned and unintelligible replies. Personally, I actually think that most contributors have given up on you Sarnia, you know, they don't want to waste their time on you anymore. If you want to take that as if you have 'won' the debate, by all means do so - if it really gives you a sense of empowerment and achievement, that's good. From my POV I now have a much better idea of 'What is wrong with America'? Having now discussed it with you for some time, it would appear to be a simple case of the short sighted, bigoted and somewhat uneducated view about the effects and ramifications of their current gun laws. BTW - I noted that you didn't remark on the YT link above (http://youtu.be/M8hTfJ-oRvw) - did you watch it? Kids, you could learn something from them.

You have a problem. (Well you actually appear to have many problems as far as I can tell). There are no USA haters here - none at all. Dare I suggest, that there are actually lots of people who have, or would very much like to visit, holiday and sightsee in the USA. No haters. What there are though, are lots of people who do hate (and rightly so), the ingrained obsession with ownership of guns, pistols and high powered weapons. Day after day, these weapons are either used disproportionately, indiscriminately or just downright dangerously, which inevitably leads to loss of life of innocent people (including children). That is the bit we hate - got it. There also is no irrationality. Very strange that you should use that word - perhaps you would like to look up it's meaning. You will find that it probably only pertains to a single person on this thread. No one here hates the USA, but they would like to know; What is wrong with America?

Hilary Clinton "I am not, and will not be afraid to keep fighting for common sense reforms." It's short, succinct and to the point. What's the chances that Sarnia gets it? Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

I really wonder about his state of mind, honestly I do. Every one of his responses is nothing more than an immature, childish dismissive - I fear we are being trolled big time, there is no way these are the coherent thoughts of a 60 year old rational. Yet, if they are (his real thoughts), how worrying is that? It might lead you to think 'What is wrong with America'?

No Batman, it's a bit like saying very few (if any) players can negotiate a move to a Prem club and insist that they are 'first choice' or 'given a guaranteed place'. Which, strangely, is what I said in my original post. Premier league managers select players who they beleive will get them three points, not those with clauses in their contracts. Ask RVP. I also never said that he could, or should have, kept QPR up, just highlighted the fact that he was part of a relegated team. HTH. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

Absolute comedy gold, but I doubt very much that he actually said that at all. He is a relatively decent front man who has had one decent season in the Prem - but at the end of the day he was in a team that was relegated. And now, he wants to step back up and be ahead of all those other front men who managed to keep their teams in the league - not a chance. If Liverpool, Spurs or another top team came in for him now - he'd sign in an instance and sit on their bench whenever they wanted him to. Even if he got a transfer to any other side - there is no way a premiership manager is going to promise him a starting berth just on name alone. Dream on.

It would appear that they have solved the problem of how to deal with drunk drivers though. How? You might ask. Just seen this on the news, absolutely tragic. I honestly think that the parents should be prosecuted. How many more kids will pay the ultimate price because of their parents neglect and gross stupidity. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

Adding a little perspective to the 'debate' - it does happen in this country as well, but on very rare occasions, this from 2005 .... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-33080953

If we do reach the Champion's League do you think we will have to expand the stadium..? Just asking like.......

You missed a bit - fixed it for you. He really is one of the thickest posters we've ever had here. I only come back for the LOL's. LOL's.....! God it must be catching.

"Sometimes it is better to just keep quiet and let them think you are a complete idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" - A Wise Man Not that I think the village idiot will understand of course.

That is quite shocking (despite the thread idiots response). It quite aptly reinforces the debate at the top of the thread. Instead of making a rational decision based on the facts, the immediate response is to draw a gun, Taser and mustard spray in order to tackle a situation best suited to a defibrillator and First Aid Kit. Yet again, it begs the question, 'what is wrong with America?'
