First off, I didn't even try to understand the legislation - too complex for me I'm afraid. But looking at the positions advertised, I can see no reason as to why they would not be open to people of all ethnicities - there appear to be no valid reasons as to why the positions are to be filled by "UK nationals from a black, Asian or non-white ethnic minority." I would be quite interested to hear the BBC's reasoning for this to be honest. That said, the website does make it abundantly clear that it is working to "provide opportunities for paid internships in the creative industries for young people of graduate (or equivalent standard) from under-represented black, Asian and other non-white minority ethnic backgrounds". However - this still sits a little uneasy with me, what happened to hiring the 'best qualified person' for the job irrespective and any E & D protected characteristic that they may possess?

Personally don't believe in 'what if's' - you can do them after every single game to be fair. What if.... We hadn't hit the woodwork 3 times Victor hadn't got sent off The ref had of given the pen And so on, and so on. All of these thing happen every game, but once the ref has blown the final whistle it's done - you can't change it (normally) - so just move on to the next game. That said - there are probably supporters up and down the country doing 'what if's'. Personally I'm just very happy with a very good season, where we've played some good stuff, and bloodied a few big boys noses. 'What ifs' - not for me, just imagine what Villa fans are 'what iffing' right now and be thankful for a very good season once again.

You've not been a Saints fan for very long have you? Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

Not really that controversial - it was common knowledge that Emu was not happy with his share of the royalties...!

Great, great achievement, gives hope to all of the clubs outside of the big 4 or 5, well done - enjoy the party...!

We are a mid table side, simple as that. Talk of top 4 and Europe is pie in the sky. What Leicester have done this season is great, but it's a one off in 30 years. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

I know I shouldn't, but it deserves to be here: http://news.sky.com/story/1656775/gun-sense-mum-shot-in-back-by-four-year-old

If we really do harbour European ambitions then we really do need to be winning games such as these. I fear though that they will want it more due to their predicament. I'm not saying that I'd take a point, but I fear a loss if I gamble. 2 - 1 to the Cherries I fear. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

Some logic in this whole sorry mess. Probably not, but perhaps a little self pacification for those who partake: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/features/magazine-35590249/35590249

You guys need to get a room. Or perhaps get over to the Muppet Show where one of you can set up a 'Who wants a fight?' thread, then you can throw your childish jibes around all day, all night, whenever. No need to stalk each other around looking to score petty points - keep it all in one place. Turkish recently asked a very valid question on, and about, this forum - you've pretty much given him, and others, the answer. The 'Weekend 6/7 Feb - Other Games' thread, where you come to get the latest on that very subject - you think.

What Turkish said. Although I don't entirely blame the mods, more the people who called for bans instead of being more thick skinned and just 'scrolling on by'. I have never put anybody on ignore, but if I came across somebody that I knew was trolling or I didn't particularly like, then I would just ignore the post. Even Turkish got ignored when he went off on one. The point being, i moderated my browsing myself. I don't know what's going on over at PAP's place, haven't looked in for months, but I think many of the 'characters' defected to that site. Will always be grateful to those people whose efforts go into running this place, but I feel perhaps less stringent moderation and freer speech might be considered forth with. You probably need to get over the fact that Liverpool are a much bigger club than us, and therefore an attractive proposition for most of our players. Don't let it bother you. As for cup finals, again you're wrong. I had a great day out at Wembley a couple of years ago with about 45,000 other Saints fans - we won too..! Football, it's all relative you know. A very good question, is it any wonder that this forum is slowly dying. Ohhh and a shout out to the Navy, anybody who had the misfortune to share a submarine with Batman, I feel for you, really I do. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to US politics, so you may have to excuse me. So what you're saying in effect is that this situation can never, ever be changed. The US gun laws can never ever be changed, where we are is where we are and they can never be improved. I'm dumb on politics, but pretty hot on good old common sense - that stance, if true, is just pure bollux.

This - don't think we have the players to cope with their quality. I've also got a bad feeling that Stokes name is on the cup as well, which would annoy the crap out of me, but they look pretty solid right now and difficult to play against. Hey ho - there's always next year.

What sort of 'person' would execute a nine year old child? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-34946792

And in a nutshell this does appear to be a large part of the problem. Somebody else earlier on in the thread pointed to the American psyche and how this sort of behaviour would appear to be entrenched. I totally agree with the point that was made at the time and this does nothing but reinforce it. The officer took all of 6 seconds from getting out to the car to deciding that he would engage lethal force - just incredible really. It's on par with an earlier video that was posted of an armed man in a wheel chair, who was also shot and killed. Is there really no other option - I think not. As somebody who has worked with and used firearms in the past I really think that there were better options. However, once the officer had decided to use the gun, why not fire a warning shot, why not aim for the lower limbs (he was close enough). But why, oh why, continue to fire at a suspect laying on the floor - it just beggars belief. But as I said earlier - I tend to agree that it is part of the American psyche and as a result, it is almost acceptable to some, now the norm. Nothing to see here, other than a dead 17 year old youth, move along America.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Micky replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
When you consider it though, it's not really that surprising. As somebody who used to work in and around this field back in the day, it's not difficult to see that it is a massive undertaking given todays communication bearers. Pre 80's, intercept was probably only widely conducted on military means of other nations, with the odd exception here and there. Intel was relatively easy to intercept, but needed time and effort to decrypt in most cases. However, bring that up to date now, and not only do we have an interest in our military neighbours, but also a vast amount of civilian / terrorist / extremist groups as well. The internet, most people have access via a simple hand held device and are able to interact with others all around the world - the amount of chatter is immense. Yes, we have the ability to intercept and store that information, but there is now so much of it that it takes a time, manpower and effort to decide what is worthy of analysis and ultimately action. Whilst some might have reservations about the governments desire to eavesdrop upon our passive communications - if the privilege is correctly governed, and it leads to good intelligence being gathered, I have little problem with it.
