  1. A real sporting legend - talked the talk, but could afford to because he could walk the walk. I seem to remember that he actually visited Hedge End during my school years (early 70's) and opened the new Co-Op store...?? Not sure - perhaps age is getting to me too.
  2. You're right, he will, unfortunately it won't be with us though.
  3. Yep, 30 minutes after winning a major trophy, you're fired...! Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  4. No sweat, the black box has probably got 4 of those already covered, no cause for alarm. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  5. It would appear that LVG is out of Old Trafford, Jose is taking over. On the BBC now. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  6. I wonder how Morgan is feeling right now..... Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  7. What on earth is that all about? I don't normally take too much notice of the few anymore - but Jesus, that Neil Allen sounds as though he is about to jump off the Itchen bridge....! P.S. I do now understand what people mean when they highlight the word 'paragraphs' for this rag though.
  8. Cheers Jimmy - I feel empowered and enlightened to have learned at least something from the last 12 pages...!
  9. So - could somebody explain to me the 2nd phase offside rule please, so that I can at least understand one post that I read tonight...???
  10. So are we therefore saying that because of the fact that the ethnic makeup of employees in the media doesn't reflect the population as a whole, that this would indicate that the BBC has, in the past, discriminated against the black, Asian and non-white ethnic minority, by giving jobs that should have gone to them, to the majority white ethnicity? I'm not trying to be antagonistic with this issue, but simply trying to see why 'the best person for the job' is not being considered. I fully understand that these are internships, but by definition they are opportunities that could very well lead to full time jobs.
  11. And so this is good reasoning (fair and legal) for the agency to apply it's "no whites" policy for all of the positions advertised...???
  12. Highly unlikely, Stoke have been awful for the last couple of months, they have nothing to play for - easy West Ham win. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  13. First off, I didn't even try to understand the legislation - too complex for me I'm afraid. But looking at the positions advertised, I can see no reason as to why they would not be open to people of all ethnicities - there appear to be no valid reasons as to why the positions are to be filled by "UK nationals from a black, Asian or non-white ethnic minority." I would be quite interested to hear the BBC's reasoning for this to be honest. That said, the website does make it abundantly clear that it is working to "provide opportunities for paid internships in the creative industries for young people of graduate (or equivalent standard) from under-represented black, Asian and other non-white minority ethnic backgrounds". However - this still sits a little uneasy with me, what happened to hiring the 'best qualified person' for the job irrespective and any E & D protected characteristic that they may possess?
  14. Personally don't believe in 'what if's' - you can do them after every single game to be fair. What if.... We hadn't hit the woodwork 3 times Victor hadn't got sent off The ref had of given the pen And so on, and so on. All of these thing happen every game, but once the ref has blown the final whistle it's done - you can't change it (normally) - so just move on to the next game. That said - there are probably supporters up and down the country doing 'what if's'. Personally I'm just very happy with a very good season, where we've played some good stuff, and bloodied a few big boys noses. 'What ifs' - not for me, just imagine what Villa fans are 'what iffing' right now and be thankful for a very good season once again.
  15. You've not been a Saints fan for very long have you? Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  16. Not really that controversial - it was common knowledge that Emu was not happy with his share of the royalties...!
  17. Great, great achievement, gives hope to all of the clubs outside of the big 4 or 5, well done - enjoy the party...!

  19. I doubt very much that RK is bothered about who he loses this summer, don't forget, he's off to Arsenal anyway.... allegedly....

  21. Minute in stature, massive in talent.... A brilliant wordsmith, thanks for the memories. RIP
  22. We are a mid table side, simple as that. Talk of top 4 and Europe is pie in the sky. What Leicester have done this season is great, but it's a one off in 30 years. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  23. I know I shouldn't, but it deserves to be here: http://news.sky.com/story/1656775/gun-sense-mum-shot-in-back-by-four-year-old
  24. If we really do harbour European ambitions then we really do need to be winning games such as these. I fear though that they will want it more due to their predicament. I'm not saying that I'd take a point, but I fear a loss if I gamble. 2 - 1 to the Cherries I fear. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
