  13. No bad. I would've like to see these guys given a go at it: http://www.2advanced.com/#/home or if you want to keep it closer to home - perhaps these: http://www.theory7.com/main.html Either way, currently I very, very rarely look at the official site, so any improvements will be welcomed,

  17. Showed his class to help them get back into the game though: "Spurs have pulled one back, thanks to a fine steal in midfield from Victor Wanyama. He muscles his way out of a Juventus tackle, sets up Erik Lamela who shoots low past Neto. Lovely bit of smash and grab from the new signing Wanyama, who arrived from Southampton this summer." He is a class act, and will be missed.

    Sammy Lee

Really chuffed that Sammy has got the England gig - he has an infectious character that obviously rubs off on players, which is great when it's all going well. Hopefully he is also old and bold enough not to be too PC to give some of the 'prima donnas' a good kick in the rear end and a few choice words when needed. Either way, I hope he has a ball.
  19. Hope he goes. He would have been my first choice for the England job though.
  20. I think it's now got to the stage where both the public, and the police, are actually thinking 'Kill or be killed', no matter what the situation. Their total acceptance and reliance on guns to 'solve' even the most minor of disturbances is, if it weren't so tragic, almost laughable. As usual, it's the innocents that suffer, but that won't stop them carrying their guns, no siree. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/father-shoots-son-dead-in-freak-accident-at-firing-range-but-vows-his-attitude-to-guns-wont-change-a3287981.html
  21. Anybody care, anybody interested....??? After the latest England debacle in France, is anybody bothered about who takes the reins for the next? Looking at the press it appears that the FA want to go for one of the thousands and thousands of good English managers that we have in this country, and better still BFS or Steve Bruce appear to be pretty near the top of their list. Which is the lesser of two evils there? Personally I quite fancy giving Poch a go. Young ambitious manager who has excelled since his arrival in the premier league and has done well bringing on young players. Yeah, I know technically this should be in the other sports forum - but nobody ever goes there these days - so thought I would try and get away with dropping it in here.
  22. I had an account there for best part of 7 or 8 years, and given the user name and password that I used, my allegiance would have been patently obvious. I probably visited the site 10 - 20 times in all of those years, never posted, trolled or copy and pasted any information from there. It appears that I have recently been removed though - each to their own I guess - but very childish to just blanket ban people without explanation.

  24. It kind of annoys me a little when people quote Hillsborough as a reason for us never returning to standing within a football stadium. The legacy of the 96 is that we now have safe all-seater stadiums, which I respect. However, with all due respect to the 96, their families and friends, I do believe that a more apt and lasting legacy would be the return to 'safe standing sections' within stadiums, where lessons have been learned, and this sort of tragedy cannot happen again. 2 of the fundamental failings that led to the Hillsborough deaths were poor stewarding and control when fans entered the ground, and the fact that they were effectively penned in and could not 'overflow' onto the pitch as the situation worsened. Both of those issues, have been addressed with modernization of stadiums, thus if overcrowding were to occur it would be much easier to take action to prevent injury. Personally, I'm in the old codgers crowd and would probably always want to sit, however I would really like to see areas where standing was allowed in a controlled and safe environment.
