  1. He has had chances in plenty of games, and continually fluffs them. It wouldn't be so bad if he offered something else, but he doesn't. Its all very well saying give him yet another chance, but conversely why not get him out of the firing line and spare him the ongoing embarrassment, take the pressure off of him, he obviously can't handle it. As for the Hull plan..., they probably haven't, all season, anywhere. So as sure as eggs is eggs, and with our goal shy squad you just know its going to happen.
  2. Why? He's already proved, since the year started that he can't score - how many more chances do you think he might need? Games are running out this season, we need points, Pelle is not likely to provide the inspiration, movement, flair or goals that will lead those points. Hull will come, park the bus, and go home with the points
  3. Without fail, every match thread, somebody will say exactly the same thing about how 'poor' the opposition is. Thing is we continue to fail to score, and drop points against them, so what does that say about us as a real euro contender. We were fed a great early filet by Arsenal today, and at present have failed to take advantage, great opportunity being passed up at the moment.
  4. Got no chance of catching them, Liverpool are a very good team, no matter what some on here may say. They had a terrific run in the second half of last season and they are doing the same this year.
  5. Swansea are shot, can't even get out of their own half, let alone trouble Liverpool's goal. The scousers will manage the last twenty minutes and win it two nil.
  6. Got to agree with Dig Dig - he should have come. Fraser is a good goalkeeper, no two ways about it, but as Dig Dig says - he lacks in some areas. He is a great shot stopper and has proved that over the course of the season - yesterday in particular. But he isn't great at commanding his 6 yard box and often looks very flat footed. If his starting position was good, he could have come and got the cross. He doesn't actually have to catch it - but he has to influence it at least - and did neither. It resulted in a free header effectively. Look back at United at SMS - Rooney's cross comes from a long way out and goes all the way to the back post where RVP get a connection probably less than a yard from the goal line. Again, he doesn't have to catch the ball - but if he at least gets a glove or fist on it, it goes away, if he goes for it and misses completely - again at that point then it probably puts RVP off and the ball goes dead. In short - in his box, he has to be more commanding. It's not a rant, he's going to be a top, top stopper - but at the moment I think he has some limitations - hopefully the club are working on them.
  7. We were never going to keep up with the big sides. Seventh is the position that we need to try to hold onto.
  8. Nahhhhh, I'm staying up to watch the Art & Roger show, looks pretty good tonight....!!!
  9. If you want to mix it with the big boys, you need to last the pace. It's a long old season, and as they get stronger we are beginning to fade. Seventh or eighth place finish ain't that shabby. When you're vying for the top places you can't rely on other's to bail you out, you have to be good enough get the results yourself. Last couple of weeks we have been dross, the other have marched past us.
  10. Aahhhh great days, my how I miss good old tommac and LLS, where the hell is he these days. still drowning his sorrows down on the Cherries forum. Great days....
  11. Totally agree. Having a licensed firearm is one thing. But I can think of no legitimate reason as to why on earth it would be found to be loaded anywhere inside the house. Recipe for disaster and grounds to join the "America" thread in the lounge. Stupidity of the highest order.
  12. Best case scenario is for us to park the bus and play for a point. If they score it'll be game over, can see them rippin us a new one. I'd take a point now.
  13. That's sad because it means we have not one, but two, complete co cks on this forum now.
  14. First - we won't make CL and have probably 'ceilinged' over the first part of the season. As I said in a previous thread, the cream always rises to the top of the Premier League and we are not in that group - the usual suspects will make up the top 4 - 6 places. We may not be the 'cream', but we are certainly amongst the 'best of the rest', and can look forward to a good finish anyway. I think a lot of the problem is the fact that we started so well and for the first half of the season cemented a place in and around the top 4, and now, through injuries and loss of form are beginning to drop away from the top. However, look at it this way, had we started poorly and recovered to the position that we are currently in, everybody on this board would be bloody delighted. Yes it is disappointing that we are not able to mix it with the big clubs but we gave them a bloody decent run - 5th place going into March - can't complain. My only worry though is next seasons 'exodus' - it will surely come and again we will lose a fair amount of this squad. Funnily though, as I was watching the game yesterday I actually hoped that Jose Fonte would be part of it (strange I know), but if the likes of Loveren can play in a CL team, then Jose can easily, and deserves to. Don't get me wrong - I would love us to be able to offer those players the opportunities that other clubs can, but the reality is we can't, not in terms of money or CL / Cup opportunities. Overall though, my cup is more than half full, great season so far and I'm very happy with where we are at.
  15. Absolutely no cutting edge at all, and now Stouridge will come and finish us off.
  16. We're at the business end of the season now and beginning to choke. 2 home losses and a strained win against a very poor qpr side would suggest that we are beginning to fall away. Meanwhile the usual suspects are coming on strongly. Pellet has contributed, but has been woeful I'm front of goal, and as confidence drains nobody else seems to want to take responsibility. I noticed in a recent interview RK spoke about finishing sixth or seventh, perhaps preparing people for a more realistic league position. Ultimately, very disappointing, I fear we are on the down.
  17. We need a goal, both Manchester clubs winning, can't see us keeping up if we drop away.
  18. My, I larfed... (Laughed Grigsy, laughed.....!!!)
  19. This. In his time Gerrard has been a top pro. Liverpool are improving week on week (last year they were very strong in the second half of the season as well). They have a great chance of winning the cup and will no doubt finish higher than us.
  20. Typical saints, all fa rt and no sh it. Need to drop a massive log in the second half to show our intention...
  21. Lambert brace to win it for Liverpool.....
  22. Relax.... "Pougatch will also continue his work with BBC Radio 5 Live and PLTV." http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/adrian-chiles-leaves-itv-football-presenter-joins-exodus-with-immediate-effect-following-andy-townsend-and-matt-smith-announcement-9997920.html
  23. Has to be, without exception (and that includes Garth Crooks) the worst sports media pundit anywhere. Whenever I am unfortunate enough to catch any of his afternoon show on TalkSport I actually feel sorry for the guy, he is that bad. (By the way - what has he got against Arsenal and Arsene Wenger - did he **** his wife or something?) But not only is his show abysmal, but they have also paired him up with Darren Gough - Jesus Christ - the guy struggles to pronounce single syllable words ffs. Together they really are a comedy duo. I'm just amazed that not only does he get airtime on the radio but a paper also gives him column inches to prove what a complete and utter numpty he really is.
  24. Battered them at home and still lost. We haven't beaten many (any) sides 3 or 4 nil away this season, so highly unlikely. United's home form is very very good, we will do well to come away with a point. Personally, expecting a close game but ultimately a loss.
  25. "Top team win" monkey off our back. Great result, bring it on for United.
