  1. I have no problem whatsoever with ambition - but it must be ambition within your means. Ambitious outstide of your means - look no further than 25 miles down the road. CL ambitions outside of your means - check out Leeds United. Who wants to pay the full price of misguided ambitions?
  2. Sorry but I just hate that word. Investing....!!! Total bollux. I agree, btw, with the rest of your post but this investing 'argument' is totally rubbish. Just how much do you think Mr Cortese would need to invest to get us anywhere near the CL? Just to put this into some perspective, I think you'll find that Man City posted something like a 190 million pound loss this season. 190 million pounds. Loss. That is not investment - investment means you intend to regain your outlay, and more. Liken it to the Pompey Takeover Saga - you know - they cannot find 'investment' - because the product is cra p. Sustaining a mid table (Everton, Fulham, Norwich) type presence, with the occasional flirtation in one of the cup competitions is probably where we are going to be, realistically. Champions League is not out of the question though. All it would take is expansion of the ground to 60k at least and regular punters filling it. But you don't want to go there again, do you Turkish.
  3. I was surprised by the booing as well. But how do we know that it was only the Liverpool fans and not the Chelsea fans that were the guilty ones? Serious question.
  4. I think I'd be allowed to join the Forum Cool Gang because as I type I am wearing a pair of Timberland Boots. How cool am I.
  5. You know that good old saying "Sometimes it is better to remain silent and just let people think that you are stupid, as opposed to opening your mouth and removing all doubt..." You know, that one....
  6. Dressing up in stupid costumes is cringeworthy in the extreme. Not as cringeworthy as pretending to be drunk on an internet forum - but cringeworthy all the same.
  7. Geeze man, this is serious shyte - you really need to be taking it much more seriously than that.
  8. Now is not the time to shun the media - conversely I don't think that we have actually done that at all this season. Cortese has learned his lesson. The media (Mr Paul Hayward) took a cheap shot and was laughed at by his colleagues - yet another lesson.
  9. Lotta noughts eh....! Classic Pompey Syndrome right there.
  10. Whatever happened to the 'Money Counter' that somebody here set up to count their losses - must be racking up some serious millions by now...!!!
  11. If anyone deserves - Kelvin does. Could've warmed his ass on West Hams bench for the last couple of seasons, picking up big money for doing naff all. Decided to stay and see it through (could have gone horribly wrong), so in my book has earned his chance. By all means - get a quality 2nd in, somebody who will push him hard for the position - but I would stick with him, either 1st choice or back up.

Geeze - it's gonna be a long, long summer. This is sooooo bad I might even try and get myself banned from here for a few months......
  13. West 'am, the big 'I am' - no fanks mate Birmingham City, potential money lauderers - too close to the blue few - not for me. Blackpool, Ian Holloway, say no more - NO. So it's Cardiff for me please.
  14. Personally I think we should sack him now and then get the big name in - not after Nige has lost the first 4 or 5 games of the new season.
  15. Errr nobody has been appointed yet - they have only been given permission to talk to him, and that probably hasn't happened yet. As Scooby says - this could all be a bit of a screen yet.

    Fat Sam..

I chortled too, not sure that it was about the same as you though.
  17. Legend.
  18. Really - this is the sort of thread that we see fit to start after arguably one of our finest hours for many many years. Some fool wants to slag one of the players off for not blowing smoke out of her ass. I dispair.
  19. Nice post Moff - I have a colleague who is a STH at the Ricoh and has been for many years - he is gutted at what is happening to the club. He works in a an office of 4, 1 of whom is a Saints fan - so the banter is going to be flying about for a while. Always thought Cov were a real decent club - tried to do things the right way and play the right way as well, great run in the top flight as well. Really sorry to see you struggling now, but as other here have said lots of good clubs have been there, ourselves, Leed, both Sheffield clubs - not so very long ago - the now great Manchester City were there. So all is not lost - you will come back stronger from this. As others have said, no matter what the score tomorrow, we wish you all the best for the future.
  20. Nope, definately David Ginola.....!
  21. No sweat Norm - glad you got them downloaded ok, hate to lose all those memories. Now back them up - twice...!!!!
  22. Hi Norm, TS, Pancake. I too have a PB account and have various different albums of family events (and a JPT Album of course!), but was just looking at this problem. Until I saw Norms post I had never tried to download from PhotoBucket - only upload so, like Norm, family members could access it and see the pics. However, you can download the albums; There is an option to download the albums - you have to put in one of those stupid verification code thingys which are barely legible Once you have got past the code bit you are presented with a screen that informs you that the photos are ready to be downloaded - but will only be available for 24 hours - and that you can only do this once. Anyway - I have just downloaded a small album (Old SWF page banner entries actually - remember that!!!) and it worked fine Personally though - I think I would also go with Pancakes advice. If you still have the photos on your PC then try to find them and index them correctly, and make back ups. However - if you can't find them - all is not lost. Happy to help further if I can.
  23. What Steve Grant said - far, far too important to chance it for this one.
