  1. This is very true - and something that many seem to have forgotten about. I know it's not the best scenario, and survival this season is preferable - but it we go down, it isn't the end of the world.
  2. Whatever you do - DON'T do that FC. I went and did twenty minutes gardening when we were 1 nil down - if you go gardening now, this could be the worst defeat ever.....!
  3. So what with the new takeover well in place, the maintenance man looking to open accounts, they could pretty well be back in business and flying soon. So credible, I can see said maintenance worker just throwing liters of this down the drain: All their problems solved.
  4. I don't think that you can be 'morally obliged' to do anything - he may not possess any morals. It is a case of whether legally he should contact the company to remind them that he is not in receipt of a bill - and that, I do not know.
  5. Using the calculator in my head - I'm fooked..!
  6. When I heard that he was being lined up for sky I so, so wanted him to fail, be shyte, etc. (Sad bitter fan in me I guess). But I have to say that he has been top drawer, looked a little nervous on his first outing (MNF), but only to be expected really - but has gone from strength to strength since. I have little doubt that Ed Chamberlain has had much to do with his mentoring - but Gary Neville now looks, sounds and presents himself as a seasoned TV pundit. Really impressed with his knowledge about the game, love the way he is totally unbiased, gives credit where due and not afraid to critisize Utd - also his analysis and explanation is first class. As an aside saw his brother Phil being interviewed by Ed and Gary a couple of weeks back and have to say that he too sounds intelligent, articulate and interesting. Spoke very fluently about Everton's good start to the season and the 'feel good' factor in and around the dressing room. Not somebody that you see do a lot of interviews, but he took it in his stride and looked pretty natural in front of the cameras. Any bets on 'The Neville & Neville show', live on sky in a couple of years.
  7. Ummm - Stokes loss is our gain.
  8. I noticed that as well - a little worrying if we can't sell out for this level of match.
  9. If we are taking the positives out of that game, fine. I'm positive that if we give away stupid corners we don't leave the likes of RVP the freedom of the six yard box to get an unopposed header. I'm positive that we don't make substitutions to our most effective players - especially at home. I'm positive that we don't try to defend against the likes of Man U for the last 25 minutes.
  10. Story, what story - it's a guess, nothing more, nothing less - bloody worst sort of journalism ever.... SAINT HARRY Redknapp set for St Mary's return "Former Southampton boss Harry Redknapp will be offered the Saints job again if Nigel Adkins side struggle in the Premier League...." Mind you they are correct, IF we do badly in the Premier League, HR and probably 10 other managers will be 'offered' Nigel's job - that's football. Can't see it being imminent though.

    Emile Heskey

    Great strike rate.

    Gaston Ramirez

But that is NORMAL sky service - that's what they always do - run the (same) newsreel over, and over, and over again. I don't know why you expected any different.
  13. I think the Kraken has called it really. Lawrenson has a pretty lazy style about him anyway. All he's doing here is highlighting the fact that we are likely to be without points for 3 - 4 games and questioning whether the owners will start to get twitchy. Decent shout really.
  14. Not for me thanks - but willing to be proved wrong. Also as he above said - odd thread.
  15. Never heard of him - but roll on page 94 all the same....!
  16. I heard him say that, and most people in football would say similar - but even then I don't think that it applies to us. I don't think that we will have a fair representation of where we will finish after 10 games. We have been dealt a pretty hard start, could well be played 5 lost 5 - but even then I wouldn't panic too much. How many points did Wigan pick up last season after their first 10 games - not many I would wager - but they stayed up comfortably. So long as the lads heads don't drop because of the poor start (which is only to be expected) - we could well be ok - but the first 10 games are not really going to be the markers.
  17. Could be worth a punt - took Spurs from 3rd bottom and nearly made CL - and we all know we need to be making the CL pretty soon.
  18. Going by the brief highlights on motd - looked awful - large spaces - pretty quiet. Nothing for anyone else to fear.
  19. Played 4 and lost 4 is pretty much what I expected tbh. Wigan were never going to be easy. So pretty much I am unsurprised at our lack of points and wont be expecting us to get any any time soon.
  20. So after game one at SMS we have shelved the champions league aspirations, failed to make capacity thus putting the expansion plans on the back boiler and managed to lose to lowly Wigan. Real eye opener. If we get relegated this season, and promoted the following - will we still have achieved the 5 year aim...?
  21. That's a lot of minutes in a single season for young Dyer, he never normally gets into double figures. Good solid season for him. Great value for money for club and fans alike.
  22. Good on you Moff, you get off to Yeovil, we're off to the Champions League apparently..!
  23. There's not a lot about our qualification for Europe mentioned anywhere....
