I'm not going to sneer at any of them, they all do a great job. But think subjectively about it - what do all clubs want - instant success. How many prizes are there, eeerr not enough to go around. The bottom line is that not every club is going to get instant success - how long have Leeds been here, how long did Forest spend here? Many good clubs have played at this level - there is no shame here. I'm not the one expecting (or even demanding in some cases) instant success, although I would expect improvement season upon season. By your working - AP has between 6 - 12 months to deliver before we get back on the good old 'manager merry go round' to find the next candidate. Hey - but no matter, that has served us well over the past 5 years or so, no need to change now huh. No need for me to worry about it either eh - me, I'll just get over it, in time.

Really funny thread - I love it. Instant Success - does that like come in a sachet, which you pour into a bowl, add milk and whisk rigorously? Modern professional football (or any sport for that matter) is all about stating your ambition and aiming high - especially when you are talking to your boss or your customers. So the fact that NC and AP have targetted high stakes is hardly surprising. But whether they really expect to achieve them is a different matter. Can't wait until the end of next season to see the meltdown here if we are still in this division.

If his record is 4 points from 9 in his first 3 games at the club - thats not half bad either. Check out a certain Mr Strachans record - nobody appears to be calling for his head yet. The manager is the fall guy in this game, always has been and probably always will be - but sometimes, when you get rid of the people at the top things change for the better - let's face it, we know that for a fact. Sometimes you reap what you sow - perhaps those at LR should beware.

No slagging from me - I've got one too, does everything that I need it too (and more), easy to configure, battery life is good, sits happily on my home wireless network with 'Fring' (Skype) - works well. If any slight grumble - it's a slightly 'fat' phone, other than that its great.

If you havent noticed SAF is already looking for a player to replace Rooney, who plays the same sort of striking role, and that player is Hulk. SAF has been offered 60M plus benzema by Real Madrid. Expect to see SAF take this offer and use the 60M to sign a top class midfielder (Silva). So next years striking partnership will be Hulk and Benzema. Exactly. Tis all very well laughing our coks off at the Blue Few down the road - but look more closely at football in general. Pompey, West Ham, Hull, Watford, Cardiff plus others that I have probably missed - all in the shyte, to put it bluntly. Funny though it may be - you have to ask yourself, where will it all end - once Pompey have been erased from the footballing calender, who shall we bay for next, Bournemouth, then who, B&HA perhaps. More to the point - when will our time come, when do we cease to exist - will we all have a jolly good chuckle about that, what the hell, it was good while it lasted..! Dave Whelan was right when, a couple of years ago, he prophocised that an English Premier League club could cease to exist because of the dynamics of the PL - shouldn't be too long before he can say 'I told you so'. Phil is right - the bodies that oversee English football need to take a long hard look at the way in which it continues to run, largely on 'substainable debt' (never never) and now by 'faceless' owners. The problem as I see it is that the suits at the FAPL do 'very very well thank you' from the finances generated from the product - and so are not keen to rock the boat. Perhaps they are willing to let all small clubs go to the wall so long as the big four prop up thier investment. A bit like the superstores putting the 'family run' and 'market stalls' out of business - sad sad state of football today.

I think they should be allowed to march through the streets. I think that the residents of WB should close up for the day and desert the streets. I think the media should totally ignore the protest and write / broadcast nothing.

Perhaps I should have just rested my case and let PES tell it how it is. But you obviously misread or misunderstood my original post. The point that I made was that the fans wouldn't particularly care about how success was achieved - they wouldn't have had thier eye on the Boardroom - they were enjoying Premiership football and winning the FA Cup. Thus - I think that we actually agree with each other..? If you're saying that we (or any other fans for that matter) would have been different in the same circumstances then I would totally disagree. Fans come to see success on the pitch and if that is delivered then they probably don't give two thoughts to what is happening in the Boardroom. Perhaps I am just a bad fan though or I have moral issues that I should address.

Worst commentator / summariser ever - Stuart Hall - talks total tosh should have stuck to IAKO. Worst radio presenter - Adrian Durham - tries desperately to be interesting, topical, funny, contraversial yet fails (daily) on all counts and just comes across as a total dickhead.

You make a good point, but the fans can in some ways be excused for not caring or questioning where the funds were coming from. They (rightly or wrongly) expect those charged with running the club to do so prudently, and with good business principles and accumen. The FAPL should be the ones open to question about this whole sorry affair as they are the ones who should have been taking a 'business' eye view on procedings at Pompey and not a 'fans' eye view. They appear now to be taking 'an interest' once the iceburg has been hit - and we all know the outcome of that, don't we?
