Fair play to you - for once I think that you make some good points. Perhaps we are all so wrapped up watching your train pile up that we tend to forget just how emotional we got whilst ours was ploughing into platform one. I guess it's easier watching the train, than being on it - for what it's worth - I hope you survive the forthcoming impact. Good luck.

Simply put - they tried to cheat. HTH
-
They can - but I think it will probably be a buyers market - they are desperate, they goods will be cut price methinks...!

You really couldn't make it up. If true, this only endorses what many have been saying here for some time - they should have sold during the transfer window. If thats what they needed to do to stay afloat then that is what they should have done - again, trying to gloss over the issue, keep their players, it is toutamount to cheating. They should have had a bloody firesale and invited all and sundry. The gamble of investment obviously failed, now they want special dispensation to have their very own transfer window. It sucks, it really sucks. If this is allowed to happen then they should only be able to sell to clubs outside of the English football league. Many clubs have spent their transfer window budgets and therefore would be disadvantaged in trying to gain the services of these players (should they want them of course) - therefore if granted, it could have a detrimental affect on other clubs playing in the English league. Personally I think it probably just adds a little more weight to the argument that they have been trading whilst insolvent - but we shall see.

Never watched any of the garbage - but Mrs Micky told me that the Spice Girls got an award for the best performance over the last 30 years or something - is that really true...?

All we can hope is that PFC123 is in no way connected or instrumental in the formation of the New Pompey. If he is basing the business model on the sort of fan figures that he is quoting here it will not be too long before that team enters liquidation as well...!
-
Or the trick quick question about the team that lost in the fifth round, but still won the FA Cup...???
-
I agree with Deano - somebody will 'save the day' for them. They will get relegated, the FAPL will sigh a huge sigh of relief as the problem falls into somebody else's court. That said - I bet the FAPL do not show the same apathy for the next club that finds itself in a similar position - they will learn from this debacle and act - life just is not fair.
-
Sure did - the email was to confirm that they would buy pompey and the phone call was to let Storrie teller know that the cheque was in the post. Job done - they are saved...!
-
I don't think it would be the first time that they had played the 'fake sheek' role - they have history...!
-
If they sell the TV they will get cash, save on electricity and sky subscription - who knows, may stave off liquidation....!

You should work for the FA....
-
Probably not - but following the PFC business plan, all you need to do is speak to Ponty - he will advance you the required amount of posts before the end of the thread in order that we make the 500,000. This is normal Internet Forum practice - every forum I know advances posts to customers to keep them happy.... honest guv...!

You really should be able to work that one out for youself. Renegotiation of transfer agreements is hardly anything new - you only need to check out your own back yard to see that. How many 'adjustments in payment schedules' do you think your club has negotiated over the past 6 months - probably well into double figures. You've had to do that because you have failed to meet the original payment agreements, because you ****ed all the money up against the wall in player payments. When we were in the poo, we sold players to keep going, to pay the bills. You had the transfer window to do the same - offload your players, bring in money and trade solvently - but no, you decided to ignore that option. We did not go cap in hand to ask governing bodies for a payout that we would be owed in the future - we sold assets, that is what you should be doing. Hence people now believe your club smells, people believe you cheated and continue to cheat the system. You are using assets that you cannot afford to the detriment of all of the other member clubs in the league - that patently is unfair, no matter where you finish at the end of the day. If your players do not get paid at the end of the month - then they should not have been allowed to represent you during that month, it really is that easy.

Spot on. Hope the judge reads it too.

Dear oh dear. If our club crest was designed by a 7 year old then that 'article' was written by a 4 year old. What a piece of complete and utter journolistic toilet, it actually makes me want to change career paths - talk shyte, publish crap - be a rag reporter. It's obviously a very easy job to do. It took 2 minutes of my life to read - I feel cheated. Total dross.

I think you may have got there a little late with those 'exclusives' - GM gazumped you on this headliner - although to be fair he did credit you...! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=20162

Perhaps Tim needs to sound Ron out on this one - then we could put some serious cogs in motion so to speak.

Nice article - gave us some great times, players and memories. As for sharing a stadium though, probably not a great idea - I don't even like having to share the county with the Blue Few, never mind a stadium...!

Could somebody please tell me what a D of F does...??? Highest profile D of F in recent times that I remember is Dennis Wise, which apparently was not a raging success. D of F's who has them, who has a successful one, what do they do..?
-
If we score first we are in with a chance - especially if the crowd are really giving it some. If they score first I dont see us turning it around - head says Pompey win (but couldn't really give a shyte because we are going to Wembley anyway).
-
It comes from both sides though Nick - you only have to go and look on thier message boards to see that we have quite a few mongs on our side too. There are good and bad in both camps - luckily for us, PES is one of the more 'bearable blues'...!

You should have stopped typing after the first three words.

I wonder if LLS will be at SMS at the weekend checking out his latest 'venture'...? Keep your eyes on the directors box people...

Well I never would have thought it...! Same site - but much better link: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/09022010/63/saints-wembley.html
