Luke Shaw suffers double leg fracture against PSV
Snopper replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
Very sorry for Luke - hope he gets back to full fitness in time and is able to resume his career. SFC have one again shown their class with their timely expressions of sympathy and best wishes, as have individuals like Jose and Jay Rod. Proud of my club once again. As to whether Luke`s injury will affect the money we got for him, at times like this there are more important things to be concerned with. -
Very impressed with Mugabi.

Many thanks for the explanation - I would have preferred "My mistake" though.
-
I never understand what that means. Would you be so kind as to explain/ Genuine question from a septuagenarian struggling with the modern world.

Done and dusted - good luck with your dissertation. I agree with Hurricane163 - some feedback would be interesting. HTH, tbf.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Snopper replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
I`m almost beginning to feel a bit sorry for VVD - when he arrives, the weight of expectation on him will be enormous. Just hope he lives up to the billing. -
If someone had offered me 2-2 before the game I would have taken that to be fair. And bitten their hand off

Looking forward to a good day out with my recently retired eldest son - I always enjoy coming home and the experience of just being at SMS is worth the journey.

Ralph Krueger interviews with Radio Solent pre-match
Snopper replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Ralph comes across very well - just wish he wouldn`t call football a `product.` -
I agree. Sounds like a jolly nice chap. I like the cut of his jib.

Enjoyed seeing Walkabout again and especially hearing the mellifluous tones of the young Jenny Agutter and John Barry`s spellbinding score.

Once more, reading The Inquisitive Elf by Eunice Close, published by Dean in 1965 in their Little Poppet series. I used to read it to my boys when they were very young (all in their 50s now) and it taught them that if one falls for the temptation of habitual curiosity then problems inevitably arise, although it points the way to redemption and self discovery. In a mad world, it`s good to have old friends to fall back on ........
-
I saw that - a shining example of the fine line between genius and madness.. On balance, I thought madness just edged it.

At times like this I cast a wistful glance back to the relative peace and calm of our League One days......
-
Sometimes I recall the days of League One with a kind of wistful affection.

This!! Drove home to Kent via Portsmuff just to make the point......
-
Hope this is right - sounds like it could/should be. Either way, money well spent to see him on his way and as well as the legal eagles, I`m sure the financial whizz kids at SMS are `content` with the outcome.
-
Oh, dear. Another defeat for irony.......

Once more I`m reminded of the three great lives of life:- The cheque is in the post; I`ll respect you in the morning; and I`m from the Council and I`m here to help you.

Gets more like the Greek debt negotiations every day. I`ve reached the point where I just want Clyne to go - enough is enough. As for Morgan, in a way I hope the future works out for him and he will at least leave us (if he does) with the acknowledgement of what he has contributed over the years.

It`s really perfectly simple. We should all welcome them with open arms, make sure they have somewhere to live, be cared for if they need medical attention, make sure they have enough money to live comfortably and enjoy the kind of life that has been denied them. After all, what have I paid my taxes for over the past 60 years?
-
I wonder if his greatest contribution might be to enable Katherina to retain her confidence in the way the club is run?
-
Maybe it includes a blow-up Servalan?

I think these `celebs` who don`t like being asked for autographs should have pre-printed wads of paper with their signatures on - then they could just rip one off and hand it over. Simples.
