It's all a bit embarassing, that page makes things worse. At least Rickie wrote an honest letter about leaving. Lallana couldn't, simply because he lacks any decency, and because the truth is that he doesn't actually give a **** and has wanted out for a long time. He deserves any abuse he gets, he has made mugs out of both the club and fans.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m
Saint_Tony replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Would love to see is beat them at Anfield with those 2 watching from the bench. The five year plan is finished, we're starting a new chapter under RoKo. **** Lallana, Shaw and Lambert, let's get some new players in who want to be here. -

Is that it on the OS? They obviously aren't happy with the way he has conducted himself and rightly so. His comments and attitude have been disgraceful. It seems that our players getting international recognition has been the worst thing to happen to us. Too many players' heads turned by Stevie G and the other bell ends in the squad. -
[Daily Mail] Saints make formal enquiry to sign Danny Ings

There's plenty of good players in the Championship, I don't see it as lowering expectations.Don't get the obsession with having to buy players just from the top leagues -

I don't know what people expect, prolific striker's at this level are hard to come by. Looking at the top scorers from last season, the only players in double figures from clubs below us are, unsurprisingly, Bony, Benteke and Remy. All top players, but all around the £20 million mark you would think. Unless of course we go for the next few on the list and get Kevin Nolan and Crouch in. Would much rather go for Ings, very much get the feeling his injury set him back a lot, his potential is huge -

This is the sort of player we should be going for. Looked very impressive in the Championship last season, and I have no doubt he can make the step up. Plus he might actually be proud to wear the Southampton shirt. (And if he turns out to be a success I'm sure Les Reed will be more than happy to sort him a move to a top 6 club) -
Morgan leaving would absolutely destroy this team, a lot more so than the other ****s who have already left.Who's going to be next then on the transfer rumour wantaways? Wanyama? Clyne? It's all ok because we'll have £100 million to spend on replacements like 2nd rate Italian strikers who have only been prolific in the Eredivisie. We are already becoming this season's joke team, and it's getting embarassing. Just hope Reed is capable of bringing in some decent replacements, not so sure though

At least 6 players from Krul, Shawcross, Caulker,Ricardo Rodriguez, Ings, Bony, Redmond,Griezmann

**** him, we knew he was off anyway. In a weird sort of way, I'm quite excited about next season, just for the fact that we might be lining up against Liverpool with 4/5 new players that aren't with us yet. There's been a lot of names mentioned, but have a feeling we might get some new faces in who haven't been on people's radar. I genuinely believe Reed and others will have been working just as hard on bringing in players as they have been on negotiating player exits. Ultimately, I'd much rather keep Lovren and Schneiderlin over Lallana and Shaw. Obviously no guarantees but there's going to be a lot of activity over the next 2 months
-
A good fee, but isn't the academy just a bit pointless when anyone who's good enough to play at a higher level leaves after a season? It's essentially just a high quality production line for the elite clubs. It really is nothing to boast about or be proud of. The day we can keep some our our own products and use them to our advantage (eg. Champions League qualification) then maybe we can shout about it
-
Pretty much this. Never really took to him. Sure he's a good coach but he it became obvious very quickly that he didn't ever really care about the club, just his own career and ambition. He was overrated as a coach. As Nige used to say, draw a blue line under it and move on. I'm sure we will
-
Yes, it's all very speculative at the moment. If we got 2 quality strikers like them, Caulker/Shawcross and replacements for Lallana and Shaw then its possible, bit optimistic though
-
Would be happy enough to spend £30-35 million on those 2, then use the Lallana and Shaw funds to bring in another 3 or 4 players
-
We're all going to moan either way, but I'm happy enough with the statement. They've given understandable reasons for letting Rickie go, and seems that they are taking a tougher stance on other players which is good to hear. Think it's vital we get a new manager in by the end of the week, and show that all of our ambition hasn't died just yet

Blackmore: Players angry with Board & Reed
Saint_Tony replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Too think you were telling others about being ott just a few weeks ago with their reactions. Sadly the nightmare some of us feared is slowly coming true -
Very good point, think how many extra points we've gained through his spot kicks. Every time we've had a penalty with him playing, you know it's a guaranteed goal. As for next season? There's too much to be worrying about, but my guess is David McGoldrick after we resign him once Mick McCarthy is appointed as our new manager. Exciting times ahead

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included
Saint_Tony replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
This thread is going to look a bit embarassing very soon. Think it's best to lock it now and try to forget we ever had any players in the squad -
Too true, the contribution he has made every season is worth so much more to us than a figure like that. I can understand why the fee is that low, but it makes no sense whatsoever to let him go. This board are a soft touch, there can be no doubt about that.Any player who can provide a similar contribution is likely to cost in excess of £20 million. Most of us would take Bony or Benteke, but I can't see it happening as we aren't in any better a position than their respective clubs
-
£4 million is a joke. Double figures for goals and assists, how much will it cost to get a player in who is capable of that sort of contribution. Lose Lallana and we will lack any sort of attacking threat except for J Rod.
-
It seems to me like Ralph almost thinks he's doing the right thing. Doesn't want to upset anyone who wants to leave so just allows it. He's becoming an embarassment very quickly
-
Let's be honest it's a done deal. Still in shock, genuinely thought it was a wind up. We've had a lot of our players linked to clubs, but Rickie was one I wasn't worried about. You can't begrudge him a move, but we won't be able to replace him. And now have to watch him at the World Cup being talked about as a Liverpool player
-
It's all very suspect. Skybet opened the book this morning, someone's had a bet, then a few rumours start. A few more people have a bet, Skybey get scared and inform SSN that it must be happening. All quite possible. Not sure what Liverpool fans would make of it, probably not the statement of intent their fans want to see, is it??
-
True. Many of us are still judging the board too early. MP has left, but that was to be expected. We don't know who the new manager will be and haven't lost any players. Things still might work out ok
-
Benitez would be great. Whilst the chances of it happening are slim, it's a possibility. As has been mentioned, if he fancies a return to the PL what are his other options? We're not a big club, but if given a transfer budget he might want to take on the challenge
-
No, but by all accounts a lot of the players loved working under him. Whilst Spurs are usually a bit short of the top 4, they've still got more potential than us, especially if MP can get a few of their misfit signings firing.
