  1. Very good point, think how many extra points we've gained through his spot kicks. Every time we've had a penalty with him playing, you know it's a guaranteed goal. As for next season? There's too much to be worrying about, but my guess is David McGoldrick after we resign him once Mick McCarthy is appointed as our new manager. Exciting times ahead
  2. This thread is going to look a bit embarassing very soon. Think it's best to lock it now and try to forget we ever had any players in the squad
  3. Too true, the contribution he has made every season is worth so much more to us than a figure like that. I can understand why the fee is that low, but it makes no sense whatsoever to let him go. This board are a soft touch, there can be no doubt about that.Any player who can provide a similar contribution is likely to cost in excess of £20 million. Most of us would take Bony or Benteke, but I can't see it happening as we aren't in any better a position than their respective clubs
  4. £4 million is a joke. Double figures for goals and assists, how much will it cost to get a player in who is capable of that sort of contribution. Lose Lallana and we will lack any sort of attacking threat except for J Rod.
  5. It seems to me like Ralph almost thinks he's doing the right thing. Doesn't want to upset anyone who wants to leave so just allows it. He's becoming an embarassment very quickly
  6. Let's be honest it's a done deal. Still in shock, genuinely thought it was a wind up. We've had a lot of our players linked to clubs, but Rickie was one I wasn't worried about. You can't begrudge him a move, but we won't be able to replace him. And now have to watch him at the World Cup being talked about as a Liverpool player
  7. It's all very suspect. Skybet opened the book this morning, someone's had a bet, then a few rumours start. A few more people have a bet, Skybey get scared and inform SSN that it must be happening. All quite possible. Not sure what Liverpool fans would make of it, probably not the statement of intent their fans want to see, is it??
  8. True. Many of us are still judging the board too early. MP has left, but that was to be expected. We don't know who the new manager will be and haven't lost any players. Things still might work out ok
  9. Benitez would be great. Whilst the chances of it happening are slim, it's a possibility. As has been mentioned, if he fancies a return to the PL what are his other options? We're not a big club, but if given a transfer budget he might want to take on the challenge
  10. No, but by all accounts a lot of the players loved working under him. Whilst Spurs are usually a bit short of the top 4, they've still got more potential than us, especially if MP can get a few of their misfit signings firing.
  11. The one phrase that sums it up for me 'It is a harsh reality that Saints were victims of their own success'. Completely agree, being the best of the rest of the teams outside of the top 6/7 teams has done nothing for us, and all the consequences have and will continue to be negative for the club. Successful season? Not really, the tv payments don't differ much from place to place,we haven't won anything, merely put our manager and a large amount of players in the shop window for the clubs above us. It's a sad reflection on the modern game, and could be about to look even worse on the part of the board. The next few weeks are critical
  12. As I revealed a few weeks ago, the 3 players MP wants to bring to Spurs are Lallana, J Rod and Chambers, so these are the 3 to be most worried about
  13. Not surprising, I broke news of the deal a few weeks ago. Anyway, **** him, never really took to him. His lack of loyalty is disappointing, but it's always been there to see He's a good manager, but still overrated. He will be under massive pressure at Spurs, we will see what he's made of when expectations are high. But I would love to see him fail
  14. Say what you like about Glasgow but the win percentage was a fact, and mid 30% isn't great at all. MP has a reputation as a great manager yet has only won around a third of his games? Hopefully this stays the same for him at Spurs
  15. He will need to be a success quickly at Spurs. They have a deluded chairman and fanbase who both think they should be challenging for the title and Champions League. He will be under pressure straight away. Sadly there's no loyalty in football so it doesn't surprise me that he's gone. The key issue now is for our board to prove they have some ****** and not sell off all of our players. That concerns me far more than MP going
  16. Not too many exciting options. Would definitely have Benitez but can't see it happening. We need someone who will actually show a bit of passion for the club and fans. MP might have been a good manager, but for me he's always been in it purely for himself and his own career progression rather than taking us forward as a club.
  17. Yes, but if anyone wants to hold on to any false hope they have had for the last few weeks, then no
  18. They'll probably do him a cut price deal if he buys in bulk
  19. Yes, it is my understanding that his 3 main targets are J Rod, Chambers and Lallana
  20. You've answered the question right there.
  21. No, stealing our lunch money and using it to buy a few players. You stupid *****
  22. I've lost faith in them already, and the worst bit is the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd will start to bully us now in the transfer market as Kruger and co are clearly a soft touch. We are a sinking ship without a captain to pull us through
  23. As I have posted before, the deal has been on the table for a few weeks since MP first met Levy. Not bothered by it, don't think he he ever gave a **** about us. He is a good manager, but overrated IMO.
  24. As I've mentioned MP has been in discussions with Spurs for the last 4 weeks. Still not announced but it's a done deal. Let's just move on
  25. Far too many similar threads. I think it's quite clear that the 'project' has come to an end. We need to accept we will never finish higher than 8th or compete is Europe. Sad, but true. I fear that there is no vision for success, but simply for the club to cement its position as a mid-table side. We can talk about the FA Cup defeat all day long, but we were still a mile away from winning it. Funny thing is, I cant help but think that a further run in the cup might have had a negative impact on our league form and perhaps taken some of our players out of the spotlight. The saddest part of the season just gone is that we have become victims of our own success. We are going to get bullied by other clubs in the transfer market now having missed out on Europe. I can't help but think it is the worst thing to happen to us in recent years. We're meant to look at it as a successful season. Call me a bed wetter, pessimist or whatever but we will look back on this season in a few years as the beginning of the end
