  1. Yeah I'd definitely take Coleman, another quality (English) player
  2. I don't think he was ever going to take J Rod, his injury means Roy doesn't have to worry and can tell us he might have selected him. I think Rickie's performed better in the last few games, and what other options are there other than Carroll?
  3. No, Clyne and Cork have no chance, having never been called up. Swap Barkley for Cork and I'd agree with the midfield and forwards. Can't see Dawson getting selected either
  4. I said Carroll could have a chance if came back and went on a scoring run. Think he only scored 2 since coming back, and has had minimal impact
  5. Yes exactly. Some people miss the fact that there are a lot of clubs who are a much more attractive proposition for a player than the mighty 8th placed Southampton fc. It's just the way football is, it's not a difficult concept to understand
  6. Good post. Good post. A lot of people do need a reality check. There seems to be a lot of posters who won't accept that bigger clubs will bid for some our of best players and that they might leave. It's getting to the point where we are disgusted by any report that Lallana is going to Liverpool, Shaw to United etc. The likes of Shaw and Lallana are England internationals, of course bigger clubs will be inteterested. If they played for another team eg. Newcastle, we would all be saying they are too good and will leave, why should it be any different for us?
  7. That's the thing, recently it's been difficult to feel too down if we lose, but equally to get excited about winning. I'm inclined to agree with you, this could be it. I'd loved to be proved wrong, for us to keep our key players and too invest heavily in new ones, but just can't see it.
  8. Got a leicester and man city outright double for a big payout. Thought Leicester would be the tricky part! Bit of a sweat on it now
  9. Why should we get a mention? We will finish 8th, and aren't involved in a relegation battle or a challenge to qualify for europe or win a title
  10. It is a good achievement, but it's probably about where we should be with the players we have. In a way I do find the PL a bit boring, not just sitting in 8th, more the fact that I preferred playing midweek games in League 1 and Championship. That's not to say I would swop that for where we are. Now time to smash through that glass ceiling! (or hit it very hard and come down to earth with a bump)
  11. Luke Shaw 'is worried that he might miss the boat'. Seriously?
  12. So we're all writing a player off who I doubt anyone's ever seen play?
  13. It means there's 7 teams better than is, 12 not quite as good. Room for improvement. In reality it doesn't mean anything until we find out what happens in the summer
  14. Walk into most teams? Hasn't even been able to get in ours recently
  15. People on here actually suggested Altidore on the hcdajfu thread once
  16. I've been impressed by Big Vic for the last couple of games. He's had a few problems with injuries, but I think he will be a key player for us next season
  17. Exactly, no club can guarantee this, hence Reed saying we will 'probably' turn down any bids. We need to be realistic and accept its more than likely that Lallana and Shaw will leave. I can see Morgan staying though
  18. Fair enough, if that's your opinion I have no problems with that. I'm just basing it on what generally happens in football when a mid table team has a player who is capable of playing for a better team and that clubs at the top of the table would like to buy. It's a pretty simple concept, but because so many of us don't want it to happen, we choose to ignore what is a likely scenario.
  19. Too late for him to make a push for the squad. I guess because he does the dirty work in midfield, and doesn't contribute as much in an attacking sense, he goes under the radar. E Roy could do a lot worse than take him as someone to bring on to hold a lead. Gerrard's had a great season, but Wilshere's constantly injured and never really improved and in my mind too much of a risk to bother taking to Brazil.
  20. 'If you're not in sport to win things, what's the point?'. Like that mentality, shame MP didn't think like that in the FA cup. Hopefully that might mean what's the point in turning up to finish 8th, and we can aim higher. Jury's still out for me, we shall see in the summer what Ralph's true intentions for the club are
  21. Yeah, whatever. Love how some posters get so wound up by posts that aren't based on false hopes. Lallana will leave, I don't want it to happen but would rather accept it now than wait for forum meltdown when it inevitably happens
  22. Still have no idea WTF Mcinnes means
  23. Ah I see, following Les Reed's statement yesterday, Lallana is 100% staying with us. Glad the situation has been cleared up
  24. They offer odds to specific clubs, he could go to any number of teams. If he played for someone like Newcastle for example, everyone on here would be in agreement that he was too good for them and will move to a bigger club.
  25. I'd bet good money on it. I'll be devastated if it happens, but in my opinion its odds on that it will happen
