I like Fraser a lot. He's a giant. He was shaky on crosses v Spurs tho.

It's overseas anyway. I live in New York. So no, not stupid. I also used to live in London for a good many years and have been to Wembley for a number of events - England games, concerts, NFL games and even a 10k run. It's a nice stadium, but nothing special in my eyes. Maybe if the England team had ever done anything worthwhile there since 1996 I may view it differently.

Yes. I would be overjoyed Saints got to the FA Cup Final.

Accommodation for 6 in Paris. Any recommendations?
Deano6 replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
I did Airbnb in Paris with my gf this summer. Highly recommend it. We got a great little apartment nr the Pompidou centre - fantastic location, way cheaper than hotels round there and got our own kitchen / fridge / washer etc to use for the 4 days we were there. -
Why did you think this would be an appropriate thing to post?

Is there a missing attachment I can't see? What are you saying here? You're not announcing that you have it, I hope.

I wouldn't mind if they played a few non-leagues (as in cup) games there. Certainly wouldn't have a problem playing the Community Shield abroad as its basically a friendly anyway. I also secretly don't think I'd mind if, say, the FA Cup final was played outside of UK.

Oh, I think you were correcting a typo. Sorry, my bad. RIP Rob and condolences to the family.

I wasn't really being pedantic in what I said Whitey (ok, I was a bit). I disagree with you that there's nothing meaningful in the comparison. Any comparison you ever make isn't going to be perfect. Any comparison is either going to be to a different point in time, or to different situation at the same time, all you can do is control for the "variables" as best you can. People are happy enough to look at form guides as an indication of 'something', even though each team themselves played different teams. Heck even the league table at the end of the season could be criticised as, for example, Crystal Palace at the end of last season were a very different proposition than Palace at the start of the season, or playing Spurs the weekend after a Euro game is different from playing them with a week's rest. Yet still the league table is taken as meaning 'something' in terms of how teams have performed over the period. To me the comparison that has been made in the OP is as good as any I can think of to compare the records between Poch and Big Ron. The results are against the same teams, in the same stadiums. Sure, personnel have changed (both for us and the opposition) but it works both ways - some teams have gotten stronger (West Ham?), some weaker (Newcastle?), but it's not an inherently unfair way of looking at it. Finally, 6 games feels like a decent enough sample size to make such comparisons. Feel free to point out any flaws in the comparison and how important you feel they are, by all means even suggest improvements, but it's disingenuous to say that that there is nothing meaningful to be taken from the two sets of results presented. It's a fair way of looking at it and suggests RoKo has the better record over the results shown. It doesn't necessarily make him the better manager, but does provide a decent jumping off point for a discussion.

Wrong, you can draw some inferences. To say you can't draw any is a very strong statement indeed.

She seems like she is very cuddly. From that picture I feel like I would like to give her a cuddle. FF, can you confirm her cuddlability? -
Good article, tho the one bit I'd take umbrage with is: "[Pochettino] allowed the final few months of the season to drift by with five defeats and two draws from the final 13 games when Southampton could easily have qualified for the Europa league." Even notwithstanding these stats are cherrypicked to best support the point (what's special about 13 games, other than the 14th last game was a win?), this statement says, in other words, that we won 6 of our final 13, drawing 2. That's not a bad record at all - indeed I remember being pleasantly surprised by our end to the season, especially with how the previous one petered out. It's also disingenuous to imply that with a bit more effort we could have qualified for Europe (via the league; cup is an entirely different debate)...despite being 8th, we were still a long way off Man U in 7th in the end (was it 10 points?), who themselves didn't even qualify for Europe.

I really don't get the connection. What point is being made here?

Oh, I thought it was due to the quirk of the football fixtures that we were playing QPR, managed by Judas, closely followed by Spurs, managed by Judas, rather than that QPR, managed by Judas, also have Judas as a coach. Therefore this thread is actually a joint buildup for the game against Judas's team followed by the game against Judas's team. I was wrong though and it appears it is only for the upcoming (single) game against Judas and Judas. We've got more Judases (3 Judases) than the last supper (2 Judases)!!

Do I have to? It'd be quicker for me to get to Japan!

It's just a weird article to write, since nobody has suggested we should sell half our team every year. Not really sure who he's addressing it to. I think everyone (Saints fans or otherwise) is also pretty on board with the idea we won't end up finishing 2nd at the end of the season, so suggesting our "luck will inevitably run out" is a bit trivial.

The new defence. Bast record in the Premiership so far.

Tasteless tweet from MLT...he does know this guy committed suicide right? He's hardly going to be concerned with our start to the season now.
