  1. As I said on FB.... As much as I disliked Cortese's handling of the Adkins affair, he's probably the one person this club can ill-afford to lose. Chairmen with his drive, ambition and record of achievement are very, very hard to come by. We are building something at this club, let's not throw it all away now...
  2. Who is the lady...woof woof!
  3. I guess we'll see, but I am absolutely sure they will overspend again. Obviously, we won't find out until the sh1t starts splattering the fan again... which it will IMO.
  4. Massive ROFL
  5. You'll never get promoted from League 2 in your first season tbf, though you might think you will "walk" that league.
  6. Chelsea Man United Arsenal Liverpool Tottenham Man City Swansea Everton Southampton Aston Villa Fulham West Ham Stoke Newcastle WBA Sunderland Cardiff -------- Brighton or ANOTHER Norwich Hull City But it all depends on signings, managers etc....
  7. I think we've lost a bit of the cutting edge we had under Adkin's since MP took over. That said, we have dominated far more games but haven't been able to fashion that many openings in some of them. I think a bit of pace upfront would help that, perhaps switching Rodriguez for Lambert positionally (though having Rickie centrally, as opposed to wide) might be an option. That said, he's a good crosser of the ball, though he'd probably be the slowest winger/inside forward in the Prem if we did that!
  8. It's not that much of a surprise when you consider how bad a manager Mancini is. He's awful. Wigan are a team and whilst they haven't spunked £500m on players (many of whom are utterly turd or average at best), team ethic and organisation does count for a lot. This, however, will be a completely different kettle of skates to the Arsenal game though. They'll go there and have a go, but I think you'll see Arsenal rip 'em a new one. The scoreline might only be 2-0, or 2-1, but they'll dominate completely.
  9. Interviewer: Roberto, did the best team win? Mancini: I don't know, it was a good game, they scored in the last minute. We didn't play well... Interviewer: Why? Mancini: I don't know. Sums the bloke up. Clueless and classless.
  10. They're always disappointing. Mancini is a d0gsh1t coach.
  11. That's kind of why I'm biased... it's like the visual version of YT's many botfly spot videos. Utterly vile to watch. I'm indifferent on Palace, Brighton and Watford though if I had to choose, I'd go for Brighton simply because I think they'd do it the right way and could "grow" - even if that meant being a more difficult opponent for us (though we should be in Champions League contention by then, ha ) If I had to choose a second, I'd go Watford purely on the fact that Zola's a nice guy... though Troy Deeney is an odious turd. Thirdly, Palace - they place some half-decent stuff but having Holloway doing his clown act on Sky Sports News every frickin' day would be a huge annoyance. And there's my reasoning, I guess.
  12. Oh hell, they'll go for it but the owners will probably get excited and begin a QPR-style spending spree... and that very rarely ends well. Also, I'm slightly biased. I can't stand watching Nigel Pearson's teams - they're so boring, so mundane and just plod and bluster through games. Utterly sh1te football.
  13. Curiously, I want Brighton to go up. Thing is, if Palace, Watford or Leicester go up they'll be a far easier ride next season when it comes to playing them. But, for some reason, I want clubs to come up that actually want to "achieve" something, not stagnate like Wigan etc. What's the point of promotion if your goal when you get there is just to survive?
  14. #factlessallen
  15. Rosicky, Drogba, Malbranque, Adebayor.... I'm sure I've forgot some other "big" names from the early noughties.
  16. Moyes is an excellent appointment IMO.
  17. I signed Essien for Saints on FM - it is possible! Dropped to £70k a week ...
  18. Would this be the perfect opportunity for a pre-WorldNet run out of Mr Crab Lungs Esq.... Hmmmm
  19. After hearing both Sunderland and Wigan's little musical ditties, I thought to myself if there is actually a suitable song with which the players can run out to and get the crowd involved? Don't get me wrong - I don't want it to be cheesy, nor am I advocating music at key points in football matches (after goals, grrrrrr) but there must be something out there that could get the whole crowd jumping? I don't know if it'll have quite the same effect over here but when I was at a Roma game recently, their pre-match song was absolutely belting (with the last bit sung by the fans, truly spine-tingling). So, if you could suggest any song for Saints to run out to, what would it be?* * Just not the Woolston Ferry song, ffs.
  20. That's your problem. You always think you're right.
  21. I'd tend to agree with that. I don't know why I feel more nervous... we've been in more perilous situations before and it's not bothered me. I wonder if it's because we've felt relegation before and because it saw a huge, downward spiral in our fortunes - coupled with the fact it's bloody hard to get out of the Championship anyway, I don't know. Could it be the importance of consolidating in the Prem and picking up that huge increase in money next year? Or maybe it's because we've actually been quite good this year (better than a lot of the rubbish down there) but we've let ourselves down at such important times (losing leads etc) that it'll feel a huge injustice to go down on the last day? Gah, I don't know. Right now, I'm scared. Tuesday, if things go bady, I'll be terrified. C'mon, someone's bound to tell me to pull myself together....
  22. That's right. One minute I'm worried about the situation, the next minute I'm telling myself that it's fine, we're OK and we've come out of far worse scrapes than this before. In fact, I'm chastising myself for even thinking that we'll go through the trap door, having held it together and lived through many "great escapes" whilst we were at The Dell. My question is... how are you feeling? I understand there's plenty of threads on the permutations and possibilities but how's your nerves holding up? Are you bothered, confident, worried? At the moment, I can't make up my mind what I am, but I'll be a whole lot more worried if Wigan beat Swansea on Tuesday. So, yeah... how's you?
  23. Oh, so we're £42m in debt. Oh right. Sure.
  24. WTF. That post is exactly why UKIP, for all it's good intents and purposes, will fail.
