I have, a few times thanks to my betting expeditions, ha. Wasn't that impressed. He's very rash sometimes, but wins a lot in the air and likes to keep the ball on the ground. Not quite a Rio Ferdinand, not quite a Nemanja Vidic. The EPL might be better suited to him, though...

Most interesting thing for me about this signing is that we have attracted a player who could have played in the Champions League next year....

I don't know if it was true, but I did enjoy this story... We'd just been beaten at home 0-1, it was a dour match, I can't remember who. (Also, it may have been a draw, can't remember). Anyway, WGS got them all in for training on a Sunday, early doors at an arranged time. The players all arrived, but there was no WGS. WGS calls Pendrey, and tells him to tell the players he's going to be 15 minutes late. 15 minutes later, he calls again. He repeats and rinses the excuse until 90 minutes elapses. Finally, after the 90 mins was up, he arrives. His reasoning? "You wasted 90 minutes of my time on Saturday, so I wasted 90 minutes of yours". Don't know how that was received by a bunch of Premier League footballers but still, I like the story and I like the style.

I hate to admit it but.... old saggy face is right. Besides, he's been saying what I've been saying for ages about patterning play etc.

He was brilliant a centre back.. but one of the worst right-backs I'd ever seen when he played there. Too slow, couldn't close down, offered nothing going forward. Weirdly though, that was the position he was touted as being his best.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeally don't rate Lovren but meh, if he signs, will wish him all the best. Seen him loads of times this season though and he really isn't worth £2m, let alone £10m. :-(
