  1. surely a fisher price or toys r us would have been more suitable? Well, it would have been for one particular former contributor to the thread...
  2. He'll make one or two telling contributions in the next couple of months and then the pendulum will swing again on this board, guaranteed.
  3. A little outside of the centre (but about 15 mins walk from the La Sagradia Familia (?) is this place; http://www.melia.com/en/hotels/spain/barcelona/melia-barcelona-sky/index.html Got flights, a premium city view room (panoramic views of the city etc) for £160 each all in just last week! Wish we were still there. :-( It came with tapas menu served until 11pm and free breakfast (the biggest spread of breakfast I've ever seen). Also, all drinks besides spirits are free. Soft drinks, beers, wines...! Taxis ALWAYS outside so you can always jump in one of them if you don't fancy walking. Also, there is the metro and tram which you can also use. If your missus likes shopping, try Avinguda Diagonal - incredible amount of shops from highstreet to boutique. I was dragged round there a whole day last week, such joyous fun. It's about 15-20 mins from the airport, about 30 euros ride between you. Monk, I highly, highly recommend it.
  4. Best of luck, Cov fans...! Once PL adversaries battling relegation together... hope to see you back up there again with us soon once you get rid of SISU
  5. Only Hansen and Smith choose Lallana :-o
  6. And, for the record, this is probably one of the best football documentaries on England in recent times. Look out for Mourinho's kind words (he'd be brilliant as an England manager results-wise, I'd imagine we won't be pretty to watch but we'd have a strong belief/determination that we could do something) and Jurgen Klinsmann's inappropriate joke about Germany :-o http://pookproductions.co.uk/can-england-win-the-next-world-cup-gary-lineker-documentary/
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1Iurqc1C9k If we play a top team, it'll be like the above all over again or if we're really, really lucky, like this;
  8. General consensus on here... "Lallana not good enough for United" "Average" "Squad player at best" http://www.redcafe.net/threads/adam-lallana.361862/page-4 Normally, United fans are quite knowledgeable but literally the only player I'd have from their midfield over ours is Mata, possibly Kagawa.
  9. Delighted to be in a happy environment AND enjoying his football again... a few other sly digs
  10. True, he's come on leaps and bounds but I could spot a mile off he was absolute class. Kudos me.
  11. Whaaaaa? Not Milner? I've always wanted to see him and Wilshere play together, possibly with Rooney too in an attacking three. Doubt we'll see that though.
  12. Loooooooooooooool that emboldened bit is so true... one or two bad games and a player is written off on here. Hence, the term "mongboard". Woy didn't even know why he was there, probably, bless.
  13. He'll get 50 minutes or so in the next friendly and will be replaced by Rodwell/Henderson/Cleverley/Milner off the bench, guaranteed. Been saying it since our League One days.. he's the best attacking midfielder this country has produced since Joe Cole. There is not one midfielder of English nationality that can do what he does.
  14. Yup, hence the major shifting in recent days... far more flexible with other clubs and what they want to pay now, as we are with players who want to go...
  15. I think he is a NOB fan, so I guess we wouldn't have competed anyway. Truth is, we;re going in another direction now.
  16. Banega is a helluva coup for the NOB's
  17. TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK... Goes the admin clock
  18. Ahahahahahahahahaha but Katharina's nice to them, she writes really nice letters that mean we are now in a better position than we ever were. Why? Because nice letters mean success.
  19. http://www.juventus.com/juve/en/video/3132361217001 He's absolutely beaming
  20. why is everyone so reactionary? Wet yourself over a nice letter from KL without knowing the facts then get your knickers in a twist over Osvaldo being suspended. Say he was in the wrong, do we not give second chances to people any more, just write them off straight away? If he returns and bangs in a few goals you'll all be singing a jokey song about the incident and making light of it... Yes, and it'll mostly be the same people who are saying "rubbish, disruptive, get rid" on this very thread.
  21. why are we tweeting/ airing this publicly?
  22. You're right, Defo. A lot are suckered in already and have made as judgement that this is for the best. We don't know either way yet but when a similar worded statement is released after the first player sale (they won't asset strip, but won't have the same hold over the players like NC) there'll be a few people feeling a bit duped
  23. People are very easily pleased very words. Lets have a review in 6 months or so and see where we are.
  24. a lot of people getting really excited and no doubt someone will say that it's nice to have a bit of communication out of the club as Cortese operated in almost complete silence. That said, she, has to deliver that upward trajectory now, not just say it... And I'm not sure the appointments she's got lined up will have the same single minded vision and drive Cortese had. For all hos faults and non communication, the guy delivered and not just any old suit could have done what he's done. I think we're in for a few years of treading water with Uncle John heading up a board that will basically run by Katharina. We'll miss Cortese and probably leave us wondering what could have been. Sure, Williams will be far more personable but this is a stabilising appointment, not an ambitious one.. and the players will sense that too.
  25. Cortese was given a list of things to do from the Liebherr family, mend relationships with ex saints, disgruntled companies, stop going in and out of court over things (or settling just before court), stop being frivolous with their cash and tidy up how he was running the club. He took it as an offence to the way he was doing things so the Liebherrs took it off his hands as it was his way or nothing according to him. Can only hope the new guy shares Corteses drive and vision but we'll have to wait and see .. Katharina addressed the staff yesterday but players haven't been yet as they had day off yesterday.
