Don't think it's much to do with the keeper at all, Bednarek gor absolutely schooled by Aspas. I see your point tho.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

Built on sand. Please go down, bucket rattlers. -
Armstrong looks like he genuinely has something about him. There was a flash of Lallana in some of his touches. Problem is, he'll get pigeon-holed like Tadic when he doesn't continuously hit giddy heights in every game. McQueen looks terrible on the right and unfit. Bertrand looks skinnier than he ever has. Used to like Long... can't seem to see the point in him now.
-
He really hasn't been great. He's probably had 5-6 games where he's been decent. A good many of the rest of them have been absolutely terrible.

Could Southampton mount a World Cup 2030 bid?

Nah, far more appeal for Brighton or Plymouth I'd imagine. Bristol too. Seriously, I'd say the only thing going for us is the airport nearby and maybe the port terminal apart from that and even in spite of the redevelopments, its a pretty dour city. That, and we won't even seriously champion our cause anyway. -
If Lemina signs for a top 6 club, he will demonstrate his quality I'm absolutely sure.

Are you serious? WTF.

I think the fun of transfer windows has pretty much evaporated for most, it definitely has for me. Jim White and his yellow tie can fkkk off, as can the hoardes of degenerates on SSN acting like bellends on the last day. I think the last season I truly enjoyed was prob the first Koeman one where players were still going for big sums but they were reasonable in comparison to the last few seasons. £5, 10, 15m etc just seemed so much more reasonable and realistic. Likewise the days of reading the gossip columns in the papers, scanning to see if Southampton were linked with anyone and for how much, normally under £2m. Reading it now is an utter sh1t show. Bournemouth bidding £22.2m for players, Championship clubs spunking £50m, L2 clubs quoting £4m for their players, utter mess. Then you’ve got anyone from the top 6 sides in the European leagues with starting valuations of many of their players being in excess of £40-50m. Sooner the arse falls out of football, the better. -
Rewatch those games agian. He barely has to do anything and when he does, sometimes he cocks that up but gets away with it.

Is this thread serious? Fkkkk me, a bloke on a bike giving his workmates a bit of stick. Jesus wept.

Ridiculous at that price, quality defender. Guess the black box didn't turn him up on our radar then. -
How on earth did you come to the conclusion that Vestergaard will help develop Hoedt? Would genuinely be better of melting Hoedt down into glue.
-
Hart in the same position except he's massively better and probably only paid a little more. We have absolutely no chance of getting rid. Still, I'm sure his bad form will subside

I thought it was Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad

Good point. That’ll free up 5k pw

I reckon I could spot and identify better players than our whole scouting dept. On my own.

This. The problem is with Maya is he suffered from being in and out of the team.. When he had a consistent run he’s actually decent. In other news, Fabian Schar from deportivo poss going to Newcastle for 3.5m. A steal

I said to my mate Sarri would fail. Done wonders at Napoli but won’t be given any time or backing to assert his ideas, definitely gone before the end of season. Burnley will struggle a bit on two major fronts but will be safe. Fulham will be a refreshing addition to the league and no doubt a managerless Chelsea will be sniffing around for Jokanovic at some point. Watford will definitely drop, Brighton might get second season syndrome under Hughton. Cardiff will boot out Warnock whilst above the relegation zone and will go also. Puel out before end of October. Arsenal to be inconsistent and flaky, Emery won’t be all that he’s cracked up to be. West Ham will be better than they have been in recent seasons but their performances won’t match their ridiculous investment. Liverpool... won’t be there year again but they’ll be given media head irrespective. Everton might surprise a few. Wolves will be ok but won’t be a roaring success either, despite their investment. Potter to do well at Swansea, Lampard to impress more than the much lauded Stevie G in their first management jobs. We’ve got a solid 10-12th written all over us.

I look at how effective he is on the pitch, not through just simple stats - though they can tell a story. In this case, I think you’ll find his record is bit skewed in Europe owing to the amount of sub appearances he had.

Josef Martinez hattrick tonight for Atlanta. Hmmmmph. And we're after Ings.

People on here making out Osvaldo was a failure as much as Carillo. Lol. At least Osvaldo looked like a professional footballer... Carillo looked liked someone who'd won a competition to play. -
Stephens actually looks like a footballer, he's just not quite cut out to be a 'main man' CB. That said, he has plenty of other attributes - he could probably be quite a tidy DM. Hoedt is just a mess, full stop. £16m. Lmao. Ross and Les, great stuff.
